“Mrs. Marsh,” he said in a detached tone, 

sitting next to Diana. 

Diana unlocked her phone and played a recorded audio clip, fast–forwarding to the part where Paula said those words.“Diana, you say I’m not fit to be a mother, but are you fit to be a daughter? Why do you always meddle in everything? Last night, you stole Queenie’s credit,” Paula’s voice played from the recording. 

Steven furrowed his brow, unsure of 

what they meant by “credit.”

Diana looked at Steven with an icy gaze. “Mr. Gellar, please explain. Did I steal Queenie’s credit last night?” she asked in 

a cold tone. 

Steven looked at Paula and asked, “Mrs. Marsh, what is going on? Why did you say that Diana stole Queenie’s credit?” 

Paula spoke truthfully, saying, “Last night, when Queenie returned, she mentioned that Diana also attended the banquet and took credit for her translation work. Fortunately, your collaboration was successful; otherwise, it would have caused you a lot of trouble.”

Steven understood the situation now. 

Queenie lied. 

Seeing him remain silent, Diana coldly 

sneered. “Steven, tell the truth.” 

Steven looked into her cold, distant 

eyes and recalled how happy she had 

appeared while on a blind date with Alexander, laughing so freely. Yet, she treated him with such coldness.

A mischievous smile flickered in Steven’s eyes. “Diana, it was indeed you who took credit for Queenie’s work last night. Queenie didn’t say anything wrong,” he admitted.

sense of pain. She knew very well that Steven would not testify to her, yet she

Paula was extremely angry. “Steven, don’t interfere. I just wanted to teach this lying schemer a lesson. She had the audacity to ask you to come and testify for her. She is truly despicable. It’s fortunate that I never acknowledged her as my daughter,” Paula roared with anger. 

Diana could no longer hold back her tears, and they began to fall. 

Trembling, she clicked on the last audio recording. 

“They grew up together, Steven and her.

Diana looked at Steven with tears in her eyes, feeling an overwhelming pain in her heart. She wanted to say something, but her lips trembled several times without words coming out.
