Chapter 50 Stepping Stone 

Diana heard her phone ringing, and 

she sniffled, wiped her tears, and then 

answered the call with a smile. 

“Tobias,” she said with a hint of tears in 

her voice. 

Tobias said nervously, “What happened? Who hurt you? Why are you crying?” 

In that moment, Diana just wanted to be 

spoiled and comforted by her brother. 

She said, “I feel so sad, I want to cry. How did my life become so tragic? I have heartless and ruthless family members,

and I fell in love with a despicable man. 

“I want to leave this place. The air here 

feels dirty to me, especially when I see 

that damn jerk, Steven, with Queenie acting all lovey–dovey. It makes me feel 

like the air itself is contaminated.

Tobias asked, “Diana, where are you

Diana’s crying had stopped, and she smiled. “I just needed to vent to you. I’m 

fine now. From now on, I only have you 

all,” she said with a hint of relief in her 

voice. 

He replied, “Silly girl, didn’t I tell you 

before? We are your family. No matter 

what grievances you face, you must always inform us as soon as possible.

“Stop crying, okay? I will be back tonight. Tell me what you want for dinner.” Tobias‘ tone was filled with doting affection. 

Diana smiled, feeling warmth in her heart. She thought for a moment and said, “Bring me a roasted chicken, and bring some shrimp for Olivia. She will be staying with us for a while.” 

As Tobias listened to her calmer voice, he let out a sigh of relief.

probably be home around 6 PM. Don’t 

be upset because of Steven, that scum 

doesn’t deserve it,” Tobias assured her 

firmly. 

“Okay! He doesn’t deserve my tears. I 

got it!” Diana chuckled and hung up the 

phone.
