Silly Bride novel (Winnie and Xavier) novel Chapter 156

The photo wasn’t very clear. In fact, it was rather blurry.

Strangely, Nate was exceedingly blurry in the photo. Conversely, the people behind him, who acted as his backdrop, were distinctly captured.

Those few people were none other than Winnie—who was being arrested—and the police officers—who were performing their duty—at the Northern District airport back then.

At the sight of the photo, Winnie couldn’t help sneering.

How intriguing!

“Mrs. Fairchild?” Louis only knew that Winnie was scrolling through her phone, but he had no idea what she was looking at. At her sudden sneer, he inexorably stopped mid-utterance.

Lifting her head, Winnie cast him a glance. “It’s nothing. Carry on. I’m listening.”

“Sure!” Louis had actually discovered that she had the ability to multitask ages ago, so he was no longer surprised about it.

As Winnie listened to him, she enlarged the photo.

Judging from the panorama and close-up of the photo, the person who took it probably failed to focus properly instead of having taken it on purpose.

However, the only comment beneath it was extremely interesting.

It was from a user known as “YulieBeau” who commented, “the devil is in the details.”

So, what’s the catch in this blurry photo of Nate’s? And why is this user so coincidentally known as YulieBeau? YulieBeau… Yulissa…

That had Winnie inevitably associating two names together.

After tapping into YulieBeau’s account, she promptly discovered that the trajectory of its activity log synchronized with Yulissa’s appearance.

Before Yulissa returned to Chanaea, the account had remained dormant.

Subsequent to her emergence, however, the account became active.

Most importantly, the user liked and commented on the photo of her arrest by the police.

All that automatically aroused her suspicions. She suspected that YulieBeau was Nate’s private Twitter account.

In the modern era, many celebrities in Chanaea had two accounts—an official account for publicity purposes as well as a personal account to surf and spread gossip.

Anyway, this man is really intriguing. He seems to be paying a lot of attention to me. No sooner had he made a call to report me for trafficking drugs out of the country than he made an appearance at the Northern District airport to appear in the same photo with me.

Winnie fiddled with her phone. Heh! Since he’s paying so much attention to me, I’ll allow him to do so much more effortlessly!

Putting away her phone, she looked at Louis right across from her. “Inform the media and change this press conference to a live broadcast.”

At once, Louis frowned. “A live broadcast? But Mrs. Fairchild, companies generally take the route of pre-recording when hosting such a press conference. On top of that, both the script and footage then have to be reviewed and authorized by the PR department before they can be uploaded to the internet.”

“Why, did Fairchild Corporation once suffer a catastrophe during a press conference?” Winnie chuckled softly.

“No. It’s just a precaution.”

In response, Winnie nodded “I see. It was my mistake earlier for not having made things clear. Conduct Fairchild Corporation’s part as per the usual practice, then make it a live broadcast for my subsequent segment. This won’t put you in a difficult position, yes?”

“Um… I think I’d better ask Mr. Xavier for permission first,” Louis replied hesitantly.

A frown marred Winnie’s countenance, and she subconsciously drummed her fingers on the couch. But in no time, the furrow of her brows eased.

“Okay. You can do so when he comes out.” She then glanced at the time before adding, “They’ve gone in for some time, so they should be coming out anytime now.”

Having said that, she stood up and headed toward the lounge.

Contrarily, Xavier clocked it all.

His blood that had been surging wildly only then calmed down slowly after he had taken the medicine Josiah gave him. His breathing gradually steadied out as well.

At that very instant, however, his breathing abruptly turned heavy again as he stared at the candid and alluring look in her eyes in the mirror.

I want her, even if it means tearing her apart.

He again took some water, but this time, he didn’t splash it onto his face anymore.

He merely spread his palms and allowed the water to trickle down.

Subsequently, he shook off the water droplets from his hands and dried his hands with a dry towel.

He was unbelievably calm and methodical as he performed that series of actions.

Only he himself knew that the beast within him was about to break free of its cage.

He turned around without uttering a single word. Without warning, he pinned the woman behind him against the wall.

Ultimately, he couldn’t bear to see Winnie suffering the slightest hurt and used his massive palm to shield the back of her head.

He plundered her mouth wildly, but still, it wasn’t enough.

Yet, he didn’t dare hold her too tightly for fear that he would accidentally crush her.

An ardent voice sounded beside Winnie’s ear. “I missed you, Dumbo. You missed me too, didn’t you? You can’t escape! I saw it all in the mirror earlier. Your eyes told me that you want me as well!”

Winnie had never planned on escaping. Instead, she wrapped her arms around the man. “I’m not going to deny that. But not now because it’s time we attend the press conference.”
