Silly Bride novel (Winnie and Xavier) novel Chapter 291

Xavier lowered his gaze and discovered a pair of unfamiliar hands that belonged to a woman.

Since they did not belong to Winnie, he turned around, gripped the woman’s neck, and pinned her against the bathroom wall without hesitation.

He was stunned when he saw her face. She looked like Winnie.

“Who are you? How did you get in?” Xavier growled.

The woman was dark-haired, fair-skinned, and dressed in revealing clothes. Upon taking a closer look, Xavier found her eyes a little glassy as if she was in a daze.

Instead of answering his question, she wrapped her slender arms around his waist again.

“Help me. Please… It’s so hot… I feel horrible…” she pleaded, her innocent and glassy eyes filled with desire.

Xavier was utterly disgusted by the woman’s touch. He shoved her hands away roughly.

This time, she did not touch him. Instead, she began removing her pathetically thin sleeveless silk dress.

At the same time, she twisted her body in front of Xavier. “Please… I’m begging you… I feel so horrible… I’ll do anything for you. All I ask is for you to hug me. Hug me and love me…”

Xavier had never felt more disgusted as he stared at the woman who was begging him shamelessly.

She even had a face that looked extremely similar to Winnie’s. How dare she do such a thing? This is an insult to Dumbo!

“Disgusting!” Unwilling to take another glance at her, Xavier turned her around swiftly to make her face the wall and placed her arms above her head.

“Ow! It hurts! Let me go! Let me go now… Ah…” the woman implored.

She did her best to cry out in an alluring manner, for she knew how seductive her voice sounded to men.

However, that did not apply to Xavier.

While restraining her, he swiftly tied her hands with a towel and tossed another on top of her head to cover her face.

Xavier looked much better when he did not have to see her face.

Leaning against the sink, he took a dry towel and dried his hair, which was still dripping wet. At the same time, he interrogated, “Answer me. Who are you and why are you here?”

“I don’t know. I was drugged.” The woman on the floor squirmed about while speaking seductively. “I think I live around here, or perhaps I took the wrong way and accidentally came in. I didn’t do it on purpose. Please… I feel absolutely terrible now. Who I am is not important. What’s more important now is that I need a man, and you’re the only person who can help me now. I’m begging you. Just take it as if you’re doing a good deed. You won’t lose anything if you have sex with me. Besides, I won’t ask you for anything. All I need is a night with you. Just one night. I promise I’ll leave once I feel better. I won’t pester you. Please!”

Xavier could not help but snort when he heard her words. “Drugged? How are you drugged when you can speak so clearly and coherently? Do you really think all men will act on their impulses when they see you looking weak and helpless? I hate people like you who use means like this, especially when you look like that.”

Whenever he thought about how similar she and Winnie looked, displeasure rose in his heart.

Suddenly, he stopped toweling his hair and threw it at her head. “Tell me! What’s your motive for coming here and putting on this act?”

The woman received no orders telling her to stop carrying out the mission, so she lied, “I don’t have any motive. What motive could I possibly have anyway? I was really drugged. Please… Help me… I feel awful…”

Xavier narrowed his eyes at her. “You’re one stubborn person, aren’t you? Fine. Let me rephrase my question. Tell me. Was it Wilhelm Speiser who sent you?” He knew something was off from the very beginning.

There was a brief pause, but the woman still uttered the same words, “I don’t know who you’re talking about. Help me. Just take a look at me, please. I’m sure you’ll change your mind if you do. Is it because you’re afraid?”

Xavier found her words amusing. “Hah! Trying to goad me, eh? You know exactly why your employer sent you. I’m sorry to break this to you, but I won’t be seduced by you just because you look like that. Tell you what, if I was not bound by the law and morality, I would’ve taken down this face of yours. Sure, I can save you, but I’m not obliged to do so. I can call the police for you instead.”

With that, he left the bathroom.

At the same time, in a house on the other side of the street, was Winnie, who was fuming with rage.

Through the surveillance footage, Xavier could be seen walking out of the bathroom and looking for a phone to make a police report.

Things had progressed to such a point, yet Wilhelm remained motionless. Winnie could not help but frown as she stared at him.

“Are you done? He passed your test. Give me my phone this instant. Are you really going to let him make a police report? I don’t want to make such a big fuss out of this.”

Wilhelm still found Xavier an eyesore, but the truth was clearly laid out before him.

Expressionlessly, Wilhelm returned the phone to her. “Not bad. According to Grandma’s orders, you can bring him back to the manor to meet her and Grandpa tomorrow.”

Winnie took the phone, giving him a brief glance. “Great. Finally, it’s over.”

With that, she dialed Xavier’s number.

The moment the call was connected, she said, “Xavier, it’s me. Don’t call the police.”

Xavier was not surprised to receive a call from Winnie at that moment.

He fell silent for a few seconds and asked, “Where are you now?”

Feeling extremely guilty over everything that had happened that day, Winnie hurriedly replied, “I’ll go over to you now.”

“Okay. I’ll be waiting for you.” Xavier hung up as soon as he finished because he heard a rather loud noise in the bathroom. I should check it out.

Winnie put away her phone and was about to leave when Wilhelm called out to her.

His brows were tightly knitted as he stared intently at her. “I just want you to be happy, and I hope you understand my intentions. Even if we made a mistake today, the Speiser family will always be your support.”

The anger Winnie felt for Wilhelm made her forget to say goodbye to him when she was about to leave.

However, deep down, she knew where he was coming from. In fact, he had done a great job from his stance.

He was a relative who grew up with her, after all. Even if they got into a fight, she could never bring herself to blame or give him the cold shoulder.

“Wilhelm, my love for you has never changed.” Looking at his eyes that were filled with stubbornness and gentleness at the same time, she could not help but step forward and hug him.

When Wilhelm heard those words, he finally relaxed his deeply creased brows.

He raised his hand and gently patted her back. “Grandma and I love you too. Now run along. Go to where you should be.”

Winnie bobbed her head in response and marched out.

It was raining cats and dogs outside as though someone had applied a grey filter to the night sky.

Winnie was in such a hurry that she ignored her surroundings.
