At this point , I could n’t pretend I didn’t hear . Henriques raised his voice on purpose , as he wanted me to hear it . If I continued like this , not only would Carlos be humiliated , but so would I. I did n’t care about Carlos , but Iit was important So I took a deep breath and opened the door . “ Mac ” I smiled at my mother-in-law . “ Why are you still here ?  _
