I didn’t speak, but continued to busy myself with my work. Seeing that I wasn’t the least bit bothered. Jessica seemed to have lost interest, so she changed the subject “Lilian, can’t you just be normal for once?”

I was working hard for the company and my family, but Carson was working hard for money and his lover. In this marriage, I had lost from the beginning.
I stopped working and sighed heavily, letting Jessica see my dismay right away. “What is wrong?”
“Anything.” I hid my desolation with a smile.
“Somehow I feel like something is wrong with you lately. Did you encounter any problems?”
“No, I’m fine.”
“Do not lie to me. I’m very perceptive, okay? You must have run into some problem.” Jessica refused to let me go. “Lilian, I am closest to you in the company. Don’t hold back if you have a problem. Just tell me. Maybe I can help you make decisions too.”
“What problem could I have?” Jessica had a stubborn mind. Just as I was having a headache from his endless questions, my phone rang. When I answered the call, Dylan’s voice came over the phone. “Lily, I’m right downstairs outside your company. Get down here quickly.”
“What happened?” Dylan’s tone was so serious that a trace of anxiety shot through my heart.
“It is a very important matter. Please excuse yourself first and come down quickly. Don’t delay. I’ll tell you later.”
Although I didn’t know why Dylan was looking for me, I could tell by his serious tone that it was definitely not a trivial matter. So I agreed and hung up the phone.
Just as I was about to call President Smith to ask for a leave of absence, the phone on my desk rang. How I got it. President
Smith’s voice came from the other end of the line. “Lilian, please come to my office.”
“President Smith, I’m sorry, but I have an urgent matter to attend to right now. Do I need to ask for a permit?”
“What is the urgent matter?” asked President Smith.
“It is something very important.” I didn’t know why Dylan reached out to her, so I could only respond,
“Oh, okay. So go ahead first” President Smith easily agreed, which surprised me.
After I hung up the phone, I grabbed my purse and left. Jessica followed me, asking, “Did young master Dylan call you
just now?”
