Sir madame has run away again (Lily and Carson) novel Chapter 212

Chapter 212
“Lily, you’re their daughter. No matter how outrageously wrong you are, to them, you will always be their child. I think they will forgive you no matter what.”
The car stopped at the entrance to the hospital before Dylan and I eagerly entered. Dylan found my father’s attending physician, who said that my father’s condition had improved and he was resting in the ward. As long as he took the medicine on time and avoided any source of suffering, he would be fine.
After leaving the doctor’s office, Dylan and I went to the sick bay where my dad was. I didn’t dare go in like that because I was afraid that my father would get a shock when he saw me. So I let Dylan into the ward alone first.
After Dylan had been in the ward for a while, my mother had come out. When she saw me, her tears started streaming down her face. Running to her, I hugged her and yelled, “Mom!”
“You unfaithful son, why have you come now? Do you know how much I worry about your father? How can you be so insensitive? You haven’t seen us in five years. What is your heart made of? How could you be so relentless?” My mom slapped me hard on the shoulder.
“I’m sorry! Mom, I know I was wrong! I was really, really wrong!” My body shook with long, torturous sobs.
After hugging and crying for a while, my mother’s roiling emotions finally subsided. “Lily, your father’s condition has just stabilized so you shouldn’t go see him yet, lest he get a shock and his condition relapses.”
“I know, Mom. I will wait here and visit Dad whenever he can see me.”
A smile appeared on my mother’s face as she commented, “You are more sensible now than you used to be.”
When she said that, my tears started to fall again. “Mom, it’s all my fault. Don’t worry. From now on, I will definitely be in good daughter. I’m not going to let you and Dad lose any more sleep over me.”
My mother held my hand and said, “It’s impossible not to worry about you. We just hope you’re more sensible and not so stubborn. By the way, I think you’ve lost a lot of weight since I last saw you. Did you run into any
difficulties?”
“No. What problems could I have?”
“Does this person treat you well?” The person my mother was referring to was none other than Carson.
“Very good.” I really didn’t want to mention this disgusting man right now, but my mom wasn’t aware of my thoughts.
“And his family?”
“They are not bad.”
“You have been very pampered by us since you were young and you have never suffered a day in your life. It must be very difficult to live with a family like his. I hear your mother-in-law is a horrible woman, Lily. I know it must have been hard for you all these years.”
“Mom, it’s not that bad. My mother-in-law was always very good to me.” I didn’t want my mother to worry about me, so I had to praise Carson’s mother, despite her being anything but nice to me.
“How can that be true? Not only will there be friction in your everyday life, but the most worrying thing is that you can’t have children. I heard that his parents have a very traditional mindset for women to have children. their husbands’ children and continue the family line. Since you cannot have children, you must have suffered a lot, right?”
