Sir madame has run away again (Lily and Carson) novel Chapter 220

Chapter 220
“Really?” Jolene was expected to move out, but I didn’t think it would be so quickly.
“I also heard Eliza say that the rich young man accepted the child in her womb and is now persuading his family to accept him too. Mrs. Boyer is very happy and is planning the dowry for her.”
I snorted noncommittally about Eliza’s affairs. If someone didn’t do stupid things, she wouldn’t make a mistake; she would never be able to marry into a rich family in this life!
“Lily, don’t worry about the soup. I’ll wake you up early tomorrow,” Victoria added.
“Thank you, Victoria.” I got up and saw Jolene sitting alone in the living room through the dining room glass. She was looking towards the dining room.
What is this bitch doing? Is she taking care of Victoria and me?
I wiped my hands and left the dining room. As I left, Jolene greeted me and said, “Lily, I have something to tell you.”
I walked over and sat down, looking apologetic. “Jolene, sorry for ignoring you today. I was in a bad mood. By the way, why didn’t you stay in the hospital a few more days? Will such an early discharge from the hospital not affect your health?”
“It doesn’t matter. My body can handle it.” Jolene gave me a smile. “Lily, I asked to be released from the hospital because of work. I haven’t worked for several months. It is not good to go on like this.”
“To work? Carson made you come back to work at the company? How could he do this? How did he allow you to work when you are still so sick?”
“Carson didn’t ask me to go back to work. I myself found a job on the Internet. The monthly salary is very high, so I want to work right away.”
“Aren’t you going to work at Carson’s company anymore? I thought everything was going well. Why the hell are you leaving? Is it because you are not satisfied with the salary that Carson gives you?”
I was really surprised that Jolene wanted to leave Carson’s company. Since I thought she would get even more involved with Carson, I didn’t expect her to leave. I didn’t believe she would be willing to leave like that. My instincts told me there had to be something fishy going on.
“I’ve been bothering you for too long, Lily. My major is design, but Carson’s core business is not design. I can’t find my motivation if I stay there. I’m lucky I got the new job right away. after I sent my resume, and the salary is also very good.”
“Jolene, if it’s about the money, I can ask Carson to give you a raise,” I said with concern.
“It’s not about the money. My family’s condition has improved a lot in recent years. I don’t need to send money to them anymore, so I can even save some money myself. I really like this job. By the way, Lily, I’m going to work starting
tomorrow.”
“So fast? Why not take a few more days to rest? After all, your health is more important.”
“I’ve thought about it. I rarely come across a dream job like this, so I better go to work early.”
Jolene was so insistent that she couldn’t say anything else. After talking with her some more, I went back to my room.
Propped up on the bed. I was very suspicious about Jolene’s behavior. Did she have an argument with Carson during the day?
