Sir madame has run away again (Lily and Carson) novel Chapter 425

Chapter 425

“Dad, were you helping Carson? I thought he had done it all himself. Why did you help him? I thought you hated him.”

“You think I want to help you? I was helping you. You were adamant about marrying him even though he was poor. I can’t just let you live a life of poverty.” My father sighed. “I know your mother gave you money behind my back. I was going to forgive you, but after you asked your mom for money and a house, I hated Carson even more. You can’t depend on a guy who lives off a woman.”

Wow, my dad could see right through anyone. He knew Carson was an asshole the first time he saw him. I should have listened to him, but it was too late to

regrets.

After a pause, my dad said, “But I can see he’s been treating you well since he got rich. He doesn’t even complain when you’re infertile so he’s not that bad I guess. But tell him about it. If anything happened to his stock, it would be disastrous.”

“What will happen, father?”

“At best, cash flow problems. Worst case scenario, bankruptcy and prison.”

Jail time? Yes! This is what I want! “I will remind you, father. Don’t worry.”

Yes, right, as if. I would never tell Carson about this. What promise? I didn’t make any promises. When we took a walk in the garden after dinner, my dad reminded me to tell Carson about his inventory problem again.

Then my father realized what could happen. If something happened, Carson would be in trouble. Not wanting my dad to get suspicious, I went to my room and called Carson, but instead of telling him about the crisis, I told him I was going overseas.

Carson was surprised. “This is really sudden.”

“I also think. But Mr. Smith said he booked the ticket for me. I asked if anyone else could come, but he said no. I really don’t want to go,” I said.

he that.

“Forget. Only do this once and tell him you’re quitting after you’re done. You’ve done more than enough to return his favor. No use working there if all it does is annoy you. We have enough living our lives comfortably anyway, so come back.” Damn, he mentioned the firing again and he thinks I’m upset?

“I’m not upset, honey. As for my resignation, let’s put that aside until I get back,” I replied.
