Chapter 495
‘You’re sick!’
‘I didn’t even show the really disgusting part! he texted, laughing smugly.
Giving a yard after gaining an inch was what he did best, and I decided to ignore him, exiting Messenger quickly. When I lifted my head, I saw my father looking at me with a heavy expression. ‘I would like some water. Father?’ I asked awkwardly.
‘No thanks.’ He shook his head and suddenly asked, ‘Lily, when are you going to bring Carson home?’
Stunned, I didn’t expect my dad to ask that, so I postponed, ‘He’s been really busy lately. We’ll see how it goes after this period.’ Worried he might not be convinced, I immediately added, ‘I just got off the phone with him and he’s away on business right now. When he comes back, we’ll plan again.
Instead of speaking, my dad just nodded in response. Remembering what happened during the onset of her illness, I asked sheepishly. ‘Dad, Mummy said you got sick after a call. Did something happen?’
‘Nothing, it happened suddenly.’
All this time before that, my father’s condition had always been stable, and it was impossible for him to act so suddenly unless he suffered some kind of shock. And since he didn’t want to talk about it with me, I would have to think of a way to find out what happened.
Early the next day, I sent his medical records to Eric, and when my mother and Mrs. Fant came, my father insisted on being discharged, saying that he felt fine and did not want to stay in the hospital. My mother and I did not agree and he ended up giving in, but on the condition that he stayed only two more days and then he would be discharged.
While I was coaxing my dad, Carson called and said he was in the hospital parking lot because he brought some supplements for my dad. Of course, there was no way I was going to allow him to get on, so I quickly climbed down to stop.
he.
It had been a few weeks since I last saw this jerk, and he looked more dashing than before, seeming to be in good spirits because of his string of happy events in his career and love life. Although I secretly hated him in my heart, a smile flickered across my face.
The moment he saw me he ran forward and scooped me up in his arms even though we were in the parking lot. ‘Honey, I missed him so much!’
‘Let me down! We’re in a public place, and that’s not appropriate!’ I tried to push him away, using public space as a reason.
Still, he didn’t let go of me with that said, and hugged me tight, closing his arms around me so much that I almost couldn’t breathe.
-Carson, let me go! I’m suffocating!’
‘My dear Lily, do you know how much I’ve missed you? I really missed you so, so much!’ he exclaimed, still trying to show his loyalty.
‘Really? But you don’t seem to miss me that much. I thought you might lose some weight or be a bit down on yourself from missing me, but you look even more elegant than before!’ I said without enthusiasm..
‘Is that so? This must be from the profit the company is making. Honey, let’s go shopping together and let me know if you want anything.
‘Are you serious?’
He wouldn’t be able to afford the thing I wanted to buy.
