Chapter 286 The Soup
After Hank left the Armstrong Family, the news immediately spread to the news network inside the Barnwell group. The directors stood in front of him, almost kneeling down to apologize and confess. But Hank only took a look and knew that they were acting. “Stop acting. Do you want Terry to go back to the company? Okay, I agree. Do you have any other requests?” Director Qin’s face was pale and he shook his head. “No, no, no, Mr. Barnwell, we are not going to plead for him. This whole thing was planned by Terry. We hope that you can handle it seriously. It is best not to let him come back to the company forever.”
Hank’s eyes turned cold. “Director Qin, as far as I know, Terry treats you quite well. You sold him off just because you wanted to protect yourself?” “It was that kid who burned the bridge after crossing the river. I did this for the sake of the company.” Director Qin snorted coldly. “It turns out that you also know that making such a big joke is damaging to the Barnwell group’s face.” Hank’s handsome face sank. “Everyone, hand over all the shares in your hands. At most, I will leave you five percent. Before next Monday, I want to see the handover procedures.” Director Qin and the others were all stunned. “Mr. Barnwell, please, don’t be so ruthless.”
“If the Barnwell group is suppressed to the point that it can’t turn over because of this matter, or if it falls into others’ hands, do you still have the qualifications to bargain with me?” Hank had always kept his word. The few directors begged for mercy, but it was useless. They looked at each other, sighed, and walked out.
“Director Qin, forget it. Just treat it as a lesson. Mr. Barnwell didn’t kick us out of the group. He is already too generous.”
How could Director Qin not understand this? However, he had fallen into Terry’s hands once again. This debt, of course, had to be settled!
They entered the lift. The other lift door opened. Lyra was holding a lunch box in her hand, followed by
Sister Zhang “Excuse me, where is Mr. Barnwell’s office?” Lyra walked directly to the front desk and asked.
When the staff at the front desk saw her, they were all stunned. “Ms. Jones…”
“Over there, over there.” Sister Zhang immediately pulled Lyra away.
She pulled Lyra over and saw Keith standing at the door. She heaved a sigh of relief. “Quick, she’s looking for Sir.”
“I brought him some food. Can I trouble you to send it in for me?” Lyra smiled. Keith’s expression turned cold and he immediately pushed open the door to the office.
If Lyra stayed outside for a second longer, there would be more risk. If something went wrong, he would not be able to keep his job. “What’s going on?” Hank raised his eyes in displeasure when he heard the voice. The next second, his gaze fell on Lyra’s face. His brows furrowed, and he quickly walked over. He pulled Lyra in, then closed the door and pulled up the blinds. His nervous and somewhat angry expression gave Lyra a fright. “Did I come at the wrong time? I just wanted to send you something to eat” she said, pursing her lips. Hank gripped her shoulders nervously, his eyes almost seeing through her. “Hank? It hurts.” Lyra pursed her lips and whispered. Only then did the man realize it and abruptly let go.
“Sorry.” “Hank, can’t I come?” Lyra asked in a clear voice. Hearing this, all of Hank’s emotions were on guard. He turned around and stared at Lyra’s face. Although he did not speak, the meaning in his eyes was already very clear. Lyra’s beautiful and fair face had a light smile. She seemed to be just asking casually. She turned to the table and took out a portion of the food. Her mouth was still muttering, “This is the soup I made, and there are fruits. No matter how busy you are at work, you must remember to eat on time.” After she finished speaking, she smiled gently at the man. “Try it.” For some reason, Hank just felt very uncomfortable.
He looked at Lyra for a long time, but he couldn’t find anything. “Are you angry with me? If you don’t want me to come to the company to find you, I
