Chapter 76 The Right Wife
Lyra hailed a taxi and did not leave directly. Instead, she asked the driver to take a detour before returning to the exit and stopping on a nearby path. Seeing Alma and Wendy get into the car and leave together, she chuckled.
“Please follow that car.”
The driver glanced at the car tag and then looked at Lyra. “Miss, who are they to you? | am a proper taxi and I don’t do that kind of business.”
“She is my father’s ex-girlfriend.”
Lyra said lightly and continued to look down at her phone. The stock price of Kensley Group had dropped again. Wendy was obsessed with the dream of marrying into a rich family, so she should be anxious now.
Lachlan was different from her father.
At most, Lachlan was just a nouveau riche. Now that the economic bubble was so serious, without the support of the capital chain, they, the Kensley family, were like a tiger made of paper.
Lyra hummed all the way, watching the mother and daughter enter the Kensley family’s door in a pleasant mood.
The driver kindly advised her, “Miss, ahead is the high-end residential area. You can’t enter without the key.”
Lyra ignored him, took out her mobile phone, and dialed the number that she had got a few days ago
In Kensley family’s villa. “Dad, what’s going on?” Alma asked anxiously. “Shut up!” Lachlan was calling his old friend for help. He turned around and shouted at Alma.
Alma’s heart skipped a beat. She looked at Wendy and did not dare to make a sound. Wendy’s phone rang. She looked at it. It was an unknown number.
However, she still hesitated to pick it up.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me. I’m outside the Kensley family’s door now. Is it convenient for me to go in?” Lyra looked down at the soil on the tip of her shoe and was not surprised to hear the urgent voice over there. “I’ll come out, I’ll come out immediately!”
Soon, Wendy came out anxiously with a handbag. “Lyra, you’ve suffered a lot during this period of time. Look, you’ve lost weight. Why didn’t you come to find me earlier?” Lyra’s eyebrows twitched.
She had never realized that Wendy was so good at acting.
