Chapter 362.1 A Blind Date I
Chapter 362.1 A Blind Date I
Suddenly, an alarm blared at the entrance.
Someone shouted, “Cops are here!”
Immediately, the entire bar was in turmoil. Some guests were frozen in shock, while others, looking guilty, scrambled in every direction.
A pair of police officers rushed in from the main entrance to maintain order. The lead officer sternly announced, “Everyone, remain calm. We’ve received a tip–off about illegal drugs being used in this bar. Please cooperate with our investigation. It won’t take long. Anyone causing trouble will be arrested for disorderly conduct.”
Many guests calmed down and began answering the police’s questions.
Charlie was taken aback. “People are using drugs here? What a mess! Chad, what kind of place did you bring me to?”
Chad, looking innocent, replied, “How was I supposed to know…”
“Shut up!”
Chad pressed his lips and remained silent.
Charlie whispered, “If there was a report, the reporter should have described the suspect, right?”
Imogen, resting her elbow on the table, massaged her temples without responding.
Chad replied softly, “They usually would, but we can’t rule out a gathering. We’ll have to investigate.”
Addiction, gathering, AIDS…
Hearing these words, Charlie shivered with discomfort and shot Chad a look, “Who asked you?” Chad was helpless. “You can shut your ear if you don’t want to hear.”
Charlie turned her face to Imogen, expressing concern, “Imogen, you look pale. Are you feeling alright?”
“A bit dizzy,” Imogen pressed her hand to her chest. “My heart’s racing. Probably just been too busy and not getting enough rest.”
“Ah,” Charlie sighed, “I wanted to meet and head back immediately. Looks like there might be a delay now.”
After speaking, she glared at Chad.
If not for him, why would she be in such a place?!
This time, Chad didn’t snap back. He glanced at Imogen, frowned in thought, and began to say, “Did you…”
Before he could finish, a police officer walked directly toward their booth. Stopping beside the table, he looked Imogen up and down from a superior position, took out a notebook, and asked, “Ma’am, your name?”
“Me?” Imogen pointed to her nose, still looking a bit dizzy.
“Yes, you,” the officer said with a stern face.
“Officer, we…” There was no chance they did drugs.
Charlie began to explain, but Chad kicked her under the table.

By now, he was almost sure something had been done to Imogen.
Someone had spiked her drink.
And then, that person immediately called the police.
This wasn’t uncommon in bars.
Charlie’s explanation wouldn’t help. In this situation, they would be taken in for further examination.
The only uncertainty was whether the person was targeting just Imogen or all three of them. What was the purpose of the poisoning?
Chad glanced at Charlie across the table, thinking, “This clueless girl probably still doesn’t get the
situation.”
After asking for Imogen’s details, the officer continued, “Why are you here tonight? Have you been here before? How many times? And why?”
The officer was stern, making Imogen feel dizzy and restless. She replied, trying to keep her composure, “This is my first time here. I came with a friend…”
“What were you doing with your friend?” The officer, noticing Imogen’s nervousness, took a longer look at her, almost certain she was the one they were looking for.
“On a blind date,” Charlie interjected, glaring at Chad.
The officer looked at Charlie. “Are you her friend?”
“Yes.”
“What’s your name?”
