LEYSA'S POV
Weekend came ... and here I am packing my things for a five days trip to Burgos, Ilocos Norte, with my older sister –Diana, my dearest friend –Eddy, and of course my brother-in-law –Fred and their other friends. I am actually planning not to join with them, but Eddy just forced me to go. Because I am also been very busy these past days. Oh well, I also working somehow, I didn't came home here in the Philippines just to flirt, though.
My whole week is also completely empty, you know ... nothing new is happening with my plans; in short, I am making Fred misses me for the mean time. Because I can hardly go home to my sister's house this past days because of my back to back appointments with different personalities and clients in Metro Manila, that’s why I also chose to stay at the hotel for a few days to lessen my tiredness from travelling.
Actually, I will just follow them to Ilocos too. Because they already traveled there earlier this morning, I said to them that i'll just ride a bus because I don't have a car to drive going there. And Eddy also offered me that he will just wait for me but then I said that its okay, that I will be fine, and I can handle myself, that’s why he just went first together with the others.
I was going downstairs; I was on the last step when I saw a bulk of a man sitting in the living room. Shit! I suddenly felt nervous because all I knew that I was just the only one here at my sister's house. What the f*ck! Will he kill me after he steals something here? Or maybe he will rape me first before killing me. My goodness!
Even though I was really nervous I decided to slowly climb back to my room. But before I could make another move, someone suddenly grabbed my shoulder and spoke.
"Why are you still here?" And then, I turned around when I heard those familiar voice, I suddenly let go of the suitcase I was carrying and just hugged him.
I cried so hard while my face was buried in his firm chest.
He hugged me back and slowly caressed my hair.
"Hey! Stop crying, baby. What happened?" he asked.
I looked up at him and immediately separated when I realized that our faces were so close to each other.
"B-baby, your face! I thought it was the end of me, I thought you were a bad guy whose planning something bad to this house and to me," I stammered, and my tears flowed again and before I could even wipe them on my own, I felt Fred’s soft palms on my cheeks, wiping my tears.
"Shh ... Don’t worry, someone unknown here cannot just enter the village without a background check from the guards, so stop crying, Leys. But wait, why are you still here, I thought you went with Diana this morning?" he asked.
"No, I still have some works to finish this morning that’s why I didn’t went together with them. But I'm leaving now too. How about you brother-in-law? Why are you still here?" I replied and picked up my suitcase and get ready to leave before I catch the night in my way.
Time check: 2 PM, and it's still a long way off. So maybe I’ll still be catch by the night in the road.
"And where are you going? Are you going to commute? Let's go together. I'm leaving now too. I just took something here, that’s why I went home. Fortunately, my decision to come back was right, because you are still here."
FREDERIK'S POV
Approximately 10 hrs travel time from here to Burgos, Ilocos Norte –so my plan is to just take a plane like Manila-Laoag and just call my friends to pick me up at the Laoag airport and take a car ride going to Burgos. But knowing that Leysa is with me for the whole trip, I will just drive.
Many unexpected things can happen along the way, and I am glad to be with my sister-in-law, I mean it’s better than okay that you have someone with you while traveling that long on the road, though.
We were already in the car, and maybe because of tiring week for Leysa, she fell asleep. We already together for an hour now
–and yes at that one hour travelling, she just took a nap.
I heard a phone ringing so I checked my cellphone, and there –Diana is calling,
["Hey babe, where are you? I thought you were going to take a plane?"] She opened up to me immediately.
"Nope. I'll just drive going there, babe. The flights are a bit late now because of the bad weather."
["Are you sure? The trip also took almost 10 hrs, and earlier, it was raining a bit in Pampanga. And we just got here in the resort."]
"Yup it’s just fine... and by the way, your sister is with me," I informed.
["Ow. It's good that you caught up with her, because she was planning to commute via bus. Where is she? Can I talk to her? That girl is crazy, I already told her to go together with us. But she was also a workaholic chic like you, babe."]
"She is sleeping soundly, I think she was tired during her whole week of work –she just seems to be able to rest today," I answered and stared at Leysa's angelic face.
["Ah. Oh alright. Just be careful. And call me, every now and then for updates on where you are because it looks like it will rain heavily later, stop over if needed. I love you."]
LEYSA'S POV
"Okay. I love you."
I awaken when I heard someone whisper.
And when I opened my eyes, Fred's face immediately appeared in front of me. He is intently looking at me, and I saw him holding something through his ears,
"Oh! A Bluetooth earphones!" I looked at his phone on the dashboard. “Assuming Leysa! He was talking to your sister; she was the one Fred said I love you to, not you."
"Oh that's right, you're already awake. Let's stop over first, I haven't eaten yet," he said.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked him out of nowhere that made him looked at me.
"Are you really asking that to me?" he smirked, shit! What a jerk.
