Sixty Shades Darkest novel Chapter 8

Marylin Ye went to the market to buy fresh beef after work.

Jamie Shen liked eating beef fillet, so Marylin bought a whole piece of beef back and cut it into thin slices with a sharp knife. Then she cooked porridge with the beef slices, adding some seasonings and finally sprinkling some cilantro for extra flavor, and set off to Jamie's home with a hamper.

The Shen residence was located in a single-family villa on the outskirts of the city, and the surrounding traffic was not very convenient. Marylin turned several buses and took a long walk in the night before finally arriving at the Shen residence.

The one who came to open the door was the Shen family's maid, Ms. Liu, the nanny of the Shen family for decades of years.

Nanny Liu opened the door to welcome Marylin in and said enthusiastically: "Miss Ye, you are here to meet the young master, right?"

The young master Nanny Liu referred to was Jamie.

Marylin nodded and smiled: "Yes, Nanny Liu."

Marylin had almost grown up under Nanny Liu’s eyes. The Ye family and the Shen family had long been in contact. But four years ago, the tragedy occurred in the Ye family. Marylin was then driven out of the Ye family and suddenly reduced to such a pathetic state.

Nanny Liu had heard of all these things about Marylin.

Nanny Liu never put these gossips in mind. In her view, Marylin was well-educated and sensible at an early age. Nanny Liu had never seen the young master pay closer attention to anyone except her. Even the Purple Ye who disappeared was not half as good as Marylin.

However, Marylin may never know about this, and the young master would also never allow Nanny Liu to gossip.

Thinking of this, Nanny Liu could not help but sigh lightly.

Nanny Liu still remembered when everyone said that Marylin was the murderer of her sister and would not allow Marylin to set foot in the Shen family residence four years ago, and how Jamie argued with all the elders of the Shen family because of Marylin. Later on, whenever any of the Shen family's servants spoke out against Marylin, Jamie always reprimanded them harshly after Marylin left.

Jamie secretly did a lot of things for Marylin, and he also once told every servant of the Shen family that Marylin would be his wife one day. If they dared treat her badly, he would not spare anyone.

Although the servants were clear that the elders of the Shen family would not allow Jamie to marry a prostitute’s daughter as his wife, not to mention that Marylin was still involved in a murder case. If it wasn't for Jamie who insisted on substantial pieces of evidence to investigate the case, Marylin would have been arrested and put in jail. How would she be able to live now?

It was a little cold outside. Marylin wore a white windbreaker that day.

Once inside the door, Nanny Liu held her frozen small hand and said concerned: "Miss Ye, the weather is so cold. When you come over next time, tell the young master to pick you up."
