Chapter 156 You Don’t Deserve Her!
After getting out, Gerald took a taxi and rushed to Splendor Restaurant.
Soon, he got out of the car in front of the restaurant. Gerald and Doreen had an appointment at 12 o’clock, and he was about five minutes earlier.
Because it was time for lunch, there were more people in front of Splendor Restaurant.
The manager of Splendor Restaurant saw Gerald standing at the door and walked over to greet him, “Mr.
Kenneth, you’re here to eat again!”
Gerald had a Black Gold Membership Card from Splendor Restaurant. People who came to Splendor Restaurant were upscale. Most of them were in suits. Gerald had had a conflict with Koen and the others, so
the people of Splendor Restaurant knew him.
Gerald nodded and said, “Yes!”
“Mr. Kenneth, which floor do you plan to go to for dinner? I’ll reserve the table for you,” The manager said very politely, “Mr. Croft said that you are an honored guest. You can tell us what you need before you come here.”
Gerald touched his nose. Since Doreen wanted to eat with him alone, she probably wanted a quiet room.
“I want a private room on any floor,” Gerald said.
“Alright. I’ll reserve a room on the fifth floor for you,” the manager said with a smile.
“Thank you!” Gerald hurriedly said.
“My pleasure!” After the manager finished speaking, he turned around and walked back into Splendor
Restaurant.
People who came and went would look at Gerald curiously.
Many high-class people in Sacramento would come to Splendor Restaurant. Some of them attended the
year-end conference of the Kenneth Group yesterday. Gerald was also on the stage. It was not surprising that
they knew him.
Gerald did not care about these gazes.
After two minutes, a car stopped at the restaurant. Doreen got out of it. Obviously, she had dressed herself
Doreen had applied light makeup on her face and worn a white dress. She looked elegant. Combined with
her elegant temperament, Doreen was like a goddess!
She walked to Gerald and smiled. “Sorry to keep you waiting!”
Gerald rubbed his nose and said, “I just arrived. Let’s go in first!”
They walked into Splendor Restaurant. The manager quickly said, “This way, the private room has been
arranged.”
Doreen looked at Gerald in surprise and said, “You booked a table in advance?”
“I got a Black Gold Membership Card from the restaurant, so I can eat here for free. They know me. They booked a table for me when they saw me waiting at the door,” Gerald explained in a low voice, “Make yourself at home. Order the most expensive dishes later. Anyway, it’s free.”
Doreen was shocked!
It wasn’t easy to get a Black Gold Membership Card from Splendor Restaurant.
However, when Doreen thought about how Gerald directly brought down the huge Kenneth family, she felt that it was possible for him. They reached the fifth floor and entered the private room. After Doreen ordered some dishes, the waiter left. Gerald asked, “Why do you want to me today?”
Doreen’s face turned slightly red. Then she looked at Gerald and bit her lips. “I just want to know what happened to you in the past nine years. I feel that I can’t see through you at all. You actually defeated the
Kenneth family…”
Gerald was speechless. He could not tell Doreen about Night Watch, but he did not want to deceive her either.
Seeing that Gerald did not speak, Doreen smiled and said, “It’s fine if you don’t want to say it.”
At this point, she fiddled with the forks on the table. Doreen looked up at Gerald, her face blushing. She
whispered, “Gerald, do you remember what we said at the school sports field that day?”
Gerald was surprised. Then he looked at Doreen and asked, “What?”
Doreen blinked her eyes. She looked at Gerald and said, “That day, I said that I believed you. I said that… after
these things are over, we can… be together.”
At this time, Gerald also recalled it.
Looking at Doreen’s pretty face, Gerald was touched.
He once adored this girl.
Those days when Gerald was still a student, he wished to stay with Doreen every day.
