Son-In-Law Gets an Upgrade novel Chapter 1026

Chapter 1026 Hold On

Boom!

A hundred meters away, the sounds of trees falling echoed in the woods, making the startled birds fly in

all directions.

The elite team members had just escorted the hundred and more survivors toward the city. Right as Elsa was about to leave, she heard the noises that echoed in the area, and her heart leaped into her throat.

The people were rescued, but she did not know whether or not Alex was alive. She was sure that he had encountered others who were even tougher to deal with.

Although Alex had refused to let her tag along when he left, how could Elsa possibly let him risk his life by himself? She would be filled with guilt for the rest of her life if he were to die.

“Captain Warrick, can you send a group of people to check the source of the noise? A friend of mine is currently missing in action, and I think he’s in danger,” Elsa pleaded.

Martin instinctively turned in the direction of the noise. He shook his head. “Officer Sawyer, I’m afraid your friend has met their demise. No ordinary person can survive that commotion. It’s best for us to head back before coming here to check it out with more people.”

Martin did not know Alex, and to his knowledge, no one could survive the commotion. Moreover, they did not know how powerful the other party was. If they were to rush headlong into the situation, they might end up with a large number of casualties.

“We’re going back now? Then what about Alex? How is he going to defeat those bad guys by himself? No. If we don’t return to save him, he’ll be dead meat!”

While Martin could leave Alex to die, Elsa could not. She could not simply sit back and watch as Alex loses his life.

In a firm tone. Elsa said to Martin, “Captain Warrick, you have to send someone over to back him up right now or you can’t leave this place!”

She lifted her AK rifle and aimed it at Martin’s head. The solemnness of her expression told him that she would pull the trigger if he did not heed her words.

Martin had never thought that Elsa would be that ruthless to threaten him with a gun. It was as if the authority of the police meant nothing to her.

“Officer Sawyer, do you know what you’re doing? You’re training a gun at your coworker. Is this something someone in your position should be doing?” Martin was not someone with a mild temper, and the way Elsa was acting only made him furious.

Elsa bit her lower lip as her hands shook. She knew that she was doing the wrong thing, but she could not leave Alex behind. After struggling in her mind, she lowered the gun

Smack!

Right as she did that, Martin slapped her. Before she could register what he had done, Martin roared, “Officer Sawyer, I’ll be reporting to the higher-ups about what you’ve done today. The slap was to sober

you up. You better think long and hard about what you just did.”
