Chapter 1047 Tobias
“Dad, you’re back! You look happy, so I’m guessing that you won Rembrandt’s painting, right?” said a middle-aged man as he walked over to Garett
The older man nodded. The moment he entered the house, he retrieved the painting to study it for a while. The longer he looked at it, the more he adored the painting.
A moment after, Garett took off his glasses and put away the painting. He heaved a heavy sigh of relief and remarked, “It was worth the trip.”
Tm glad you like it, Dad. Since you’re here, why don’t you stay for a few more days? That way, I can spend more time with you. Also, your eldest grandson, Mic, will be coming back tomorrow,” the middle-aged man suggested, smiling.
The middle-aged man who looked similar to Garett was Garett’s son, Tobias, and the “Mic” he mentioned was none other than the eldest grandson of the Greaves family, Micah.
When Garett heard that Micah was returning, the smile on his face grew wider. “Good, good. I haven’t seen my eldest grandson for such a long time. I should stay for a few more days.”
Upon hearing that, Tobias quickly told the servants at home to clean up a room for Garett.
“Dad, did anything interesting happen at the auction today? Please tell me about it,” Tobias said.
Tobias was much like Garett-kind in nature. As he had been busy with work in recent years, he had not been able to take good care of his father. That was why he wanted to take the opportunity to be a dutiful son to his father while his father was in town.
Tobias’ question made Alex’s face appear in Garett’s mind. He had a good first impression of Alex at the start, but when Alex said that he had the aura of bloodshed and was going to lose his life in seven days, Garett stopped having a favorable impression of Alex.
“No. I came back after getting the painting. The smile on Garett’s face faded. Turning to Tobias, he then asked, “By the way, why didn’t I see Greg around after such a long time? Where did that brat go again?”
Tobias had two sons. His eldest was Micah, and his younger was Gregory. Micah was hardworking and righteous, and he had been studying overseas for the past few years. It was only recently did he intend to return to the country. In contrast, Gregory was twenty-three, but he had no skills he had mastered, and be was always out wandering in the streets.
“Speaking of this brat, I really have to say that I don’t know what to do with him. He’s always out of the house, and I haven’t even seen him around today. I’ll call him and ask him where he is now.” With a sigh, Tobias took out his phone, about to call Gregory to berate him.
That son of his was difficult to deal with. If he did not rein Gregory in, the latter was going to get worse.
However, when he heard the noise outside, he became too distracted to make the call. Rising to his feet, he frowned and grumbled, “Why are the servants so noisy? Have they forgotten the manners they’ve been taught?*
An ominous feeling seeped into Garett’s mind, however. Even though he was only there for a month, he could see how respectful and solemn the servants were. Therefore, he wondered if something had
