Chapter 1059 Upholding Justice
“What are you still kneeling there for? Hurry up and get up!” Alex said to the three members of the Greaves family, still groveling on the floor and apologizing.
Garett shook his head, feeling that even if he knocked his head on the floor to death right there, it wouldn’t be enough to compensate for the harm they’d done to Erika. Therefore, he didn’t get up.
Stubborn fools! Alex couldn’t help but scold the three members of the Greaves family inwardly.
“Get up, all of you! Ms. Baxter has already forgiven you, but Gregory must die!” At the mention of Gregory, Alex’s voice grew noticeably colder.
“Grandpa, Dad, don’t believe this liar. He’s trying every possible way to swindle our family’s money. Hurry up and kick him out of here!” Gregory hastily spoke when he saw his grandfather, father, and brother had returned.
He didn’t know where they had gone, so that was all he could say.
Hearing that, Garett walked briskly over to Gregory’s bed with the help of his walking stick, raised his arm, and slapped the latter across the face with all his might. Feeling that was insufficient, Garett smacked Gregory a few more times.
Garett had lived his entire life with integrity, whether in his interactions with others or with his friends and relatives. He had always treated those around him with respect.
Now that he had aged, even in his wildest dream, he never thought his family would produce a wicked and atrocious descendant like Gregory. Garett thought that was an absolute disgrace to the Greaves family.
“Gregory, you’re not worthy of being a part of the Greaves family. From now on, our family will cut all ties with you. Your survival is no longer our concern.” As Garett snapped, he personally yanked the triangular talisman from Gregory’s neck.
Gregory didn’t have time to wonder why his grandfather was doing that. He merely instinctively wanted to snatch back the talisman from Garett’s hand.
Unfortunately, his body was too weak, so he couldn’t get out of bed at all. As a result, all he could do was beg, “Grandpa, quickly give that back to me. Without it, those filthy things will come for me again. She’ll kill me!”
Listening to Gregory’s pleas, Garett remained expressionless. However, a hint of reluctance flashed across his eyes, but he swiftly collected himself and ripped up the talisman in his hand.
When Gregory saw that, his mind went blank. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Why would Grandpa do such a thing? Immediately afterward, he roared at Garett, “Have you gone senile, Grandpa? That was the talisman that could save your grandson’s life! How could you just tear it apart?”
The moment Gregory looked up, he saw a woman in a blue dress appear before him. Beads of cold sweat broke out on his forehead as fear overwhelmed him.
Slowly shifting his gaze up, he saw a familiar face. The face indeed belonged to Erika, who he had personally killed, dismembered, and fed her remains to wild dogs. S-She’s actually here before me now!
“Ah!” Gregory shrieked, continuously shuffling his body backward until he fell to the ground. Still, he was terrified to his core.
In his panic, he picked up the fragments of the talisman from the ground and uttered to Erika in a shaky voice, “W-What are you planning to do? Go away at once. I have a magical item capable of warding off evils. It was personally crafted by the Elysian Master from Mountain of the Beasts and could obliterate you. Leave now if you know what’s best for you!”
