Chapter 1126 All She Sees Is Money 

“Mr. Daxton, no matter what, I’m still your friend, right? You can’t be so heartless!” Cory struggled desperately, still hoping that he could escape this calamity. 

However, it was of no use. The gang that Daxton had brought with him showed no mercy at all. They punched, kicked, and struck Cory with sticks. 

“Be careful not to beat them to death!” Daxton hurriedly reminded his men when he saw they were being too heavy-handed. He then looked at Alex with a beaming smile. “What do you think? Are you satisfied? Do you have any special requests, like breaking arms or legs? No need to pay extra. I can fulfill your wishes.” 

Upon hearing Daxton’s words, Alex thought about it seriously. Cory had previously wanted to cripple Zack’s legs, so he said, “Cripple his legs!” 

Daxton was more than happy to fulfill this small request for Alex. After all, he had only received half of the money from Alex. He had to be sure Alex was satisfied. 

“Please, I beg you. Don’t break my legs. I’ll give you the money. Isn’t that enough? Please, can you just let me go?” Cory pleaded. 

His cries were of no use as two men swung their steel pipes at Cory’s legs. 

Immediately after, a mournful wail sounded, causing the onlookers to turn their heads in fear. 

Alex coldly watched it all unfold. It was a well-deserved punishment for Cory. If he had not taken it to such extremes, he would not have ended up in such a predicament. 

“You can stop now. I’ve already had someone transfer the remaining two hundred and fifty thousand to you,” Alex said to Daxton. 

Daxton took out his phone and saw that there was indeed a payment notification. He quickly stopped his men and thanked Alex before leaving. 

Peace was restored once again. Cory lay on the ground with a swollen face and bruises all over and kept groaning in pain. The man had been beaten to this extent without passing out. Alex did not know whether to consider he was unlucky or fortunate. 

If he did pass out, at least the pain would be gone. If he did not, he would have to endure the agony of a broken leg. 

Alex had wanted Daxton’s men to teach Eve, the unfaithful woman, a lesson as well. However, Zack had chosen to kneel and plead on her behalf, refusing to let anyone harm her. In the end, Alex decided not to lay a hand on that woman. 

However, Eve did not fare much better. She had witnessed the entire scene of Cory being beaten, which left her utterly terrified. She had thought they had called someone to teach Zack a lesson, but in the end, it was them who ended up being unlucky. 

A look of fear washed over Eve’s beautiful face, turning it pale. Seeing Cory wailing on the ground, she hurried over and held him tenderly in her arms. 

“Darling, are you all right? I’m going to call the police so they can arrest them,” Eve said tearfully.
