“Dad, while you were away, Grandpa taught me so many things! Let me show you!” Stanley excitedly said 

to Alex. 

Alex nodded and smiled. “All right! I’m also curious about what your grandfather has taught you!” 

Stanley stood up from the couch, his little face becoming serious. He then began to raise his fists and practice his moves, each one looking quite authentic. However, due to his young age, Stanley was unable to fully display the power and momentum behind the punches. 

Those moves were not at all unfamiliar to Alex. They were the unique boxing techniques of the Jefferson family that he practiced when he was young. 

As the eldest son of the Jefferson family, Shane naturally should have studied. However, at the time, he was pampered and couldn’t bear hardships, so Susan didn’t let him learn. 

“Dad, Stanley is only six years old right now. Isn’t it too carly for him to be exposed to these things?” Alex asked Zachary. 

Zachary waved his hand nonchalantly. “When it comes to learning martial arts, it’s essential to start young. Besides, Stanley is already six years old, which is not too young. It’s time for him to learn something. Otherwise, he’ll be at a disadvantage when fighting with other kids and may end up crying! Besides, in the past few days, I feel that Stanley’s potential is no worse than yours! If he starts learning from a young age, he might even surpass you in the future!” 

Upon hearing those words, Alex didn’t know what to say. His father had just returned, so he should comply with his father’s wishes. However, he had never considered the matter of Stanley learning martial arts. If Stanley walks the path I’m on now, he’ll undoubtedly face hardships and dangers. He may even encounter life- threatening situations at any moment. I want Stanley to live like any other ordinary child. It’s my wish to see him enjoying a carefree life while I act as a big tree, sheltering him from the wind and rain. 

Zachary seemed to have figured out Alex’s thoughts and said with some displeasure, “What? Are you planning to protect him for the rest of his life?” 

“Um…” Alex hesitated, unsure of what to choose. He looked at Stanley and gently patted the boy’s head. “Stanley, do you want to learn martial arts?” 

Without thinking, Stanley glanced at Kate, who was sitting nearby with a gentle smile on her face. Then, he said with certainty, “Yes. I want to learn martial arts so that I can protect my father, grandfather, and little sister in the future.” 

Alex didn’t know what to say while listening to Stanley’s innocent words. Since my father agreed and Stanley himself wants to learn martial arts, I guess I’ll let him learn it! I can protect him for a while, but not for a lifetime. In the future, he’ll have to walk his own path. 

“Stanley, you must work hard to learn martial arts so that you can protect me in the future.” Zachary lovingly patted Stanley’s head, then turned to Alex with a serious expression. “Come with me to the study.”
