Chapter 1156 Success In Research 

“Mr. Jefferson, I’m sorry!” When Arthur arrived at the chairman’s office, he finally lowered his head and spoke with deep regret. 

Alex sat in his chair, casually flipping through the documents. The pitiful look on Arthur’s face only clicited a nonchalant glance from him. “Just be more careful when you recruit someone in the future. This matter has nothing to do with you. Tell me about the company’s recent progress!” 

Upon realizing that Alex didn’t blame him, Arthur breathed a sigh of relief as the heavy burden on his 

shoulders was lifted. 

“Mr. Jefferson, just before you arrived, Liana called me and said that there has been significant progress in the chip development. I think she should be back soon.” When discussing work, Arthur’s expression relaxed considerably. 

At that very moment, the office door suddenly swung open. A stunning and attractive figure burst in before exclaiming joyfully, “Arthur, our chip research has achieved its first success!” 

Suddenly, Liana’s smile deepened when she noticed that Alex was also in the office. “Mr. Jefferson, you’re here! I’ve missed you so much since we haven’t seen each other for such a long time.” 

Upon hearing her words, Alex couldn’t help but cough awkwardly. He felt weird when she talked as if there was something going on between the two of them. 

Meanwhile, Arthur’s eyes glistened as he was struck by a realization. Hence, he immediately made an excuse to leave. “Mr. Jefferson, I’ll let Liana explain the rest to you. I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now.” 

After he finished, Arthur gave Liana a thoughtful glance before slipping out of the office. The look in his eyes seemed to be cheering her on in her attempt to win Alex’s heart. 

Arthur had heard his fair share of stories regarding Alex and his mistress. Given how beautiful and alluring Liana was and the fact that Alex had entrusted her with the management of the tech dome, Arthur refused to believe that there was nothing going on between the two of them. 

Once the office door closed, leaving only Alex and Liana inside, the latter’s behavior became even more unrestrained with no one else around. 

She walked straight toward where Alex was sitting and hugged his neck from behind, gently whispering in his ear, “Mr. Jefferson, it’s been so long since you last visited the tech dome. I thought you had forgotten. about me! You have no idea how much I’ve missed you!” 

As Liana leaned close to his ear to speak, Alex could hear her soft breathing. The tingling sensation he felt made him feel uneasy. 

Just as he turned his head in an attempt to push Liana away and remind her to be more mindful of her behavior in the office, he was met by her deep and alluring cleavage, a sight that left him staring blankly at 

it 

“Alex, do you like them?” Noticing how mesmerized Alex was, Liana curled her lips into a smile as she deliberately puffed her chest forward. 

When Liana’s voice brought him back to his senses, Alex realized his indiscretion and quickly turned his gaze away. He subsequently let out a light cough to conceal the embarrassment on his face.
