Chapter 1230 The Worthless Ex Husband 

The two private rooms were not far apart. Heather was in room 608, while Alex and Kate were in 609. Unaware of the situation, Alex headed toward room 608 as soon as Kate ended the call. 

Alex had brought Kate to Happy Living for a meal. It was also Kate’s first time bringing Emmalyn out after their return in an attempt to make it up to their daughter. 

Opening the door to the private room, Alex caught sight of Kate and his ex-wife, Heather, sitting together. Additionally, there was a man who appeared to be around fifty years old sitting next to them, creating a peculiar scene as if an elderly father was dining with his two daughters. 

“So, you’ve finally arrived! Let me introduce you to Dexter Watson, Heather’s new boyfriend. Her taste is becoming more distinctive by the day!” Kate exclaimed enthusiastically as she walked over and took hold of Dexter’s arm. 

Upon hearing Kate’s introduction, Alex couldn’t help but take another look at the man. A cold smirk soon appeared at the corner of his mouth. 

Oh, Heather. You can do anything for money, even willingly accompanying a man who could be your father. 

Deep down, Alex despised Heather for lowering herself to date this old man for money, but he was also upset with her. 

Heather insisted on divorcing Stanley and left him to be with his other identity. However, she ended up with nothing in the end. Alex couldn’t find it within himself to sympathize with Heather and could only lament how naive he had been to innocently love her for so 

many years. 

“Indeed, she has good taste. I can’t compare to a man like Mr. Watson,” Alex said, his words dripping with sarcasm. 

Listening to their conversation, Heather felt a heartache as if a blade was slicing through her. She knew she brought it upon herself, as it was her own decision that led to this situation. 

Dexter originally had taken a liking to Kate and even thought he could have some fun with these two beauties tonight. However, he didn’t expect Kate to have a boyfriend. He couldn’t help but get hostile toward Alex. 

“What’s your name, and what business do you run?” Dexter asked Alex with an air of arrogance. 

“I own a small company,” Alex said casually before turning to look at Kate. “If there’s nothing 

else, we should get going! We shouldn’t disturb this couple any longer.” 

Despite his fury, Alex couldn’t help but feel a sense of shame for Heather, seeing her in such a state. Remaining there would only add to his distress, so he made the decision to leave. 

Kate’s thirst for humiliating Heather was far from quenched, and she had no intention of leaving just yet. Alex’s affection for Stanley, Heather’s child, instead of Emmalyn seemed to be a sore point for Kate, and she was determined to take it all out on Heather today. 

Kate deliberately said coyly, “No way! It’s been so long since I’ve seen Kate, so I want to catch up with her. Besides, it’s pretty boring if it’s just the two of us. It’s much more fun when there are four of us.” 

Dexter still had his sights set on Kate and wouldn’t just stand by and watch such a beautiful woman walk away? He also spoke up, trying to persuade her to stay.
