However, Alex had to flee to Nebula City soon after. He couldn’t expose his identity, so he didn’t give it to Heather even after they got married. 

He knew that a commotion would rise if he gave it to Heather, and Susan would eventually track him down from there. 

Alex no longer feared being located by Susan, but he and Heather had also come to the edge of divorce and separation. As such, he no longer felt right giving her the necklace. 

Alex never had his eyes on Jessica either, though. The only reason he took it out and gave it to Jessica was because he couldn’t stand Zachariah. He wanted to crush Zachariah with his power and let Zachariah know just how big of a gap between their strength. That would discourage Zachariah from ever having his sight on Jessica again. 

In a way, that necklace helped him accomplish his mission. 

He promised that he would put on an act for Jessica, so he might as well go all out. 

“Huh?” blurted Jessica in surprise. She was stumped even when Alex put the Arkenrainbow necklace around her neck. 

This idiotic Alex! Jessica didn’t know what to do. 

A necklace that was worth seventy or eighty million… Jessica was about to take it off and return it to Alex when she suddenly recalled how Alex was putting on a show for her. She was surprised, but she pushed all her emotions down, and planned on returning the necklace after everything was done. 

“It’s so beautiful,” exclaimed Jessica’s aunties as they stared at the necklace around Jessica’s neck. 

Zachariah wanted Jessica, and he said those words to drive a wedge between her and Alex, and to kick Alex down. Unfortunately, Alex never fell. He even turned the tide and pushed Zachariah to the edge of the mountain. 

Damn you and your Arkenrainbow necklace. F*ck! You were calm the entire time, but when you attack, you go for the throat! Zachariah had no way of defending himself. 

Victoria stared at her granddaughter in astonishment. That is simply too beautiful. 

“The guests are all here. It’s time to have dinner,” informed Kitty as she walked over. 

She was stunned when she saw the beautiful necklace around her daughter’s neck. 

“Four, are you surprised? Guess how much the necklace that Alex just gave Jessica cost?” said one of Jessica’s aunts. 

“T–that must be extremely expensive,” replied Kitty, who looked utterly dumbstruck. 

She had no idea how much that necklace would cost, but she could tell that it was luxurious and expensive.

“Zachariah said that it would cost at least seventy to eighty million, and those are genuine Arkenrainbow!” answered Jessica’s aunt.
