Son-In-Law Gets an Upgrade novel Chapter 372

Chapter 372 The Rainbow After The Storm

The Lockhams’ sudden change of heart left Maggie picking up her jaw from the floor. They were determined to dissolve their partnership, even if they had to go to court.

Suddenly, they changed their tune after Alex broke the Dragon’s Lock.

Maggie was so excited she could scream with joy.

This partnership with the Lockham family would bring at least two hundred million in profit to her family. If they managed the deal well, there would be more.

She suppressed her excitement and replied Mr. Lockham, “If that is indeed the Lockham family’s decision, we can arrange a time and place to sign the agreement.”

Mr. Lockham laughed. “Very well, Ms. Grant. Would tomorrow morning work for you? I’ll come to Lumenopolis to meet you personally.”

Maggie nodded vehemently. “That sounds fantastic. I’ll be returning to Lumenopolis tonight. Thank you, Mr. Lockham.”

She ended the call. In that one instant, her admiration and respect for Alex were unbelievable. This one call alone proved how brilliant he was. When Mr. Carter destroyed her remaining lifeline and trapped her in the Dragon Lock Spell, the tides of ill fortune descended upon her continuously.

But now, the devastating storm had cleared and she could see the sun shining behind the clouds again. This was more than enough proof for her.

Alex Jefferson was a living legend.

Maggie looked at Alex, eyes brimming with a respect verging on worship.

Her phone rang yet again. This time, it was an unknown number.

“Hello, Ms. Grant. I’m the manager of the Hermes clothing store you shopped at last week. You purchased a set of formal wear here,” an unfamiliar female voice said.

Maggie was confused before she nodded quickly. “Ah, I remember now. Is there a problem?”

“There’s no problem, Ms. Grant. It’s just that we found a necklace in the changing room when we were cleaning. The necklace had your name engraved on it, so we’re calling to verify if it’s yours.”

Maggie was stunned. She swallowed the lump in her throat. “It is mine! I’ve been looking for it for a few days now. I didn’t know I dropped at your store-I’ll come right away.”

She hung up the call, feeling unbearably exhilarated as she quickly wiped her tears away. The necklace was a gift from her mother before she passed away. It had carried the weight of her longing and grief for her dead mother. When it went missing, Maggie had spared no effort to search for it, sinking millions of s into the search. She was ready to give up when she received the call.

“Mr. Jefferson, someone just found the necklace my mother gave me. I really don’t know how to thank you. If it weren’t for you, I don’t think I would see that necklace ever again.” Maggie gazed at Alex with teary eyes.

Alex smiled. “Go on and get your necklace first. Anything else can wait.”

Maggie nodded, but hurriedly pulled out a cheque anyway to fill a cheque of thirty million. “Mr. Jefferson, please accept this as a small token of my gratitude.”

He shook his head. “I don’t need money. If you really want to thank me, call me the next time you receive a shipment of valuable medicinal herbs. If you could do that before the auction, I’d be very grateful.”
