“You have to help me, Jacob. I want to be deputy general manager,” pleaded Harper in the manager’s office.

With his brows knitted, Jacob shook his head. “We can’t remove Heather from her position right now, The woman still has plenty to give to this company. If we’re to reposition her now, it will be extremely disadvantageous for our operation.”

“You’re right! Why didn’t I think of that? Still, to lay off Heather, we’ll need Granny’s permission.” 

“That’s not going to be a problem. All we have to do is steal from the corporate funds and blame Heather for it. Do you think Granny will still insist on having her stay after we show her ‘evidence’ of her crime? I don’t think so.” 

After some thought, Jacob finally agreed to the suggestion. “Okay, let’s do it. I’m sure Granny won’t hesitate to fire Heather after we tell her about the new projects from the Hales. Then we’ll rid ourselves of the piece of trash for good.” 

“First things first. We have to speak to Granny,” said Harper excitedly. 

“No, the first thing you have to do is make sure that the Hales can deliver. Our operation will undoubtedly be affected if we’re to lose Heather without those projects backing us. Granny will have my head if that happens,” reminded Jacob in all seriousness. 

“Don’t worry, Jacob. You trust Henry, don’t you? Now that his brother is in jail, he’s next in line to inherit his family business. Even though his father is still calling the shots for now, I’m sure he’ll have no problem getting us some of the smaller-scale projects. Even those will be enough to last our company for a while,” promised Harper confidently since she knew that Henry had been thinking about getting his revenge on Alex for humiliating him. Not only did Alex force him to lick dirty shoes, but the man had also forced him to swallow metal pieces, knowing well that it could injure his insides. 

To Henry, getting Heather and Lucas fired was just the start. He had already come up with a full-fledged plan to exact his vengeance on Alex and make sure the man paid for his past actions.
