Chapter 544 I Will Pay For Alex

Alex glanced at Stuart and sneered, “Why, Stuart? Are you too scared to continue bidding? Ill bid eighty million.”
With that, Alex raised his auction paddle.
Stuart was stunned to see Alex raising the paddle and bid ten million higher than the previous bid. He could not understand what gave Alex the courage to bid eighty million for ginseng.
He could not believe that a live-in son-in-law of the Jenningses could afford to pay such a large sum of
money.
Even if he had the backing of the Grant family, there was no way that they would give him so much moncy.
Jacob smirked and said, “Alex, damn you! You’re the live-in son-in-law of my family. How dare you make, a bid? Are you able to produce eighty million?”
“What? He’s the Jenningses’ live-in son-in-law?” someone said.
“Damn it! So this b*stard has been pretending that he’s a big shot. How dare he come to Breezeworth Hall? He’s asking for trouble!” another person added.
“Is it because the Jenningses oppressed him so much that he is here to recover a shred of his male dignity? He has come to the wrong place,” someone else said indignantly.
Many people began to mock Alex when they heard what Jacob said.
“I strongly suspect that you are here to cause trouble!” Stuart glared at Alex. He believed that the latter was nothing but a loser, so he was furious that Alex kept behaving like a big shot before him.
Alex glanced at Stuart and mocked, “You can’t even afford to buy a thousand-year-old purple ginseng. So, why does it matter to you that I’m here? What does it have to do with you that I want the purple ginseng? If you want it, why don’t you just bid a higher price?”
Seeing that Alex was looking down on him, Stuart became furious. “You think that I don’t know your background? You’re just the Jenningses’s live-in son-in-law and useless trash who depend on the Jenningses for living. What gives you the right to speak to me with such arrogance?”
Stuart glared at Alex and continued, “Furthermore, you will need at least a billion to get this purple ginseng. What makes you think that you can afford it? Even if I stop bidding and let you have it at eighty million, can you afford to pay for it?”
After that, Stuart turned to the host and shouted, “I suggest that you chase out this mad man. He’s the Jennings family’s live-in son-in-law, so there is no way that he can afford to pay. He’s here to disturb the auction and is an embarrassment to the rest of us who can afford it!”
“Who said that Mr. Jefferson can’t afford to pay? Breezeworth Hall and I will pay for whatever that Mr. Jefferson bid for!” At this moment, a clear and confident female voice sounded. Everyone was stunned and turned toward the voice.
They saw Maggie looking at them from the second-floor balcony. Then, she turned to Alex with a hint of affection in her gaze.
“Isn’t this loser a live-in son-in-law? Why would Ms. Grant offer to pay for him? It’s eighty million!” said
someone in the crowd.
The crowd was shocked to find that Maggie offered to pay for Alex.
Many of them found it unbelievable.
Maggie came from the Grant family. Rumors said that she was going to be the family’s successor.
On the other hand, Alex was only a live-in son-in-law. He was a scumbag who lived off of a woman.
Why would Ms. Grant care about him? Perhaps, is there something special about him?
The crowd was curious, but no one could guess Maggie’s intention..
Stuart narrowed his eyes when he saw Maggie offer to help Alex.
He remembered how Maggie gifted Alex a Bugatti and humiliated Stuart at the auto show. After that, Alex broke his legs.
Today, Maggie suddenly announced that she would foot the bill for Alex. Even if Stuart and the man from Jetroina stopped bidding, she would still have to pay eighty million for him.
It doesn’t make sense! What does a loser like Alex have to do with the Grant family?
A few days ago, Stuart got someone to investigate Maggie.
Although the Nixon family was prominent in Summerbank, they were nothing compared to Lumenopolis’ Grant family.
