Chapter 627 Crude Expression 

“Jessica, I need to see the chairman. Could you please bring me to him?” pleaded Heather. 

“I’m sorry, Heather, but the chairman is not in the office right now.” 

Even though the two used to be close friends back in high school, Jessica began to dislike Heather ever since she developed feelings for Alex. Plus, she knew what happened between Heather and him, so she would rather not assist the woman. 

Heather’s eyes fell to the floor when she heard that the chairman was not around, but then her eyes lit up when she thought of an idea. “Could you call him and tell him that I need to talk to him?” 

There was no reason to deny the woman that, so Jessica had no choice but to pick up the phone and dial Alex’s number. After a few rings, Jessica heard Alex’s commanding voice over the phone. 

“What is it?” questioned Alex straightforwardly. The man’s impatient tone obviously showed that he did not appreciate the timing of the call, for he was busy with his training at Sakura Club at the moment. 

After glancing at Heather standing next to her, Jessica replied, “Heather said that she needed to speak to you.” 

“Chairman, could you please acquire Jennings Corporation for me? Please! I really need your help,” begged Heather loudly so that the chairman could hear her. 

At the sound of that, Alex’s face hardened. He knew that Ivy Media Group had a new chairman and that the man was against Jennings Corporation, but he never expected Heather to help her family again. I see Heather still hasn’t learned her lesson. 

“Tell her that Four Seas Corporation will never acquire Jennings Corporation and that she should stop thinking about it. Also, ask her not to come back anymore,” instructed Alex coldly before unceremoniously ending the call. 

Heather then looked expectantly at Jessica since she could not hear what the chairman said over the phone. 

“The chairman said that he’ll never acquire Jennings Corporation and that you shouldn’t come back here again,” informed Jessica before shrugging her shoulders indifferently at Heather. “If there’s nothing else I can help you with. I’ll be taking my leave.” 

After glancing at Heather one last time, Jessica turned around and left the disappointed woman. As Alex’s secretary, Jessica knew how much he had helped Heather. The chairman has every right to turn Heather down. She deserves it. 

At the Jennings residence. Demi excitedly stood up with the help of her crane to greet Heather when her granddaughter finally returned. 

“Heather, you’re back! So how much is the chairman willing to give us this time?” inquired Demi as she held Heather’s hand tightly. 

However, much to the elderly woman’s surprise, Heather shook her head in disappointment. “The chairman didn’t even want to talk to me. He’s not going to acquire Jennings Corporation.” 

Demi almost lost her footing when she heard Heather’s answer.

Fortunately for her, Brian was quick enough to dash over to catch her. The man ended up falling himself but managed to cushion his mother. 

“Calm down, mom. We’ll find another way,” assured Brian before turning to Heather. “Isn’t that right, Heather?” 

At that moment, the woman had no idea what to say in response, for she did not know what else to do since the chairman of Four Seas Corporation was unwilling to help her. 

The money Jacob owed to loan sharks snowballed so much that he had to pay around a hundred thousand every day. At that rate, not only would Jennings Corporation be forced to declare bankruptcy, but the Jennings family would also have to follow suit. 

Demi, who continued to lie motionlessly on top of Brian, seemed to have suddenly aged ten years as colors drained from her face. 

Sitting on the couch munching down on snacks was Jacob, who looked as if the elderly woman’s well- being had nothing to do with him. 

“Do you think we were born yesterday, Heather?” questioned Jacob rhetorically after setting his snacks down. “Any fool can tell that the chairman is into you, so why wouldn’t he help you? You just have to find the right way to persuade him. Spend some time with the man on the bed, and I’m sure he’ll grant every one of your wishes.” 

Heather, who had not said a word for a while, could no longer keep her silence after listening to Jacob. Although she had feelings for the chairman as well, she did not appreciate Jacob’s crude expression. 

Just when she was about to retort, somebody suddenly kicked the door down.
