Chapter 656 A Mature Little Boy
Wendy flushed in angst as they continued making fun of her without any signs of stopping soon.
Joseph’s face scrunched up in pain as she pinched his arm with all her might to take things out on him, but he dared not defend himself.
Joseph’s quite a pitiable man, huh? She doesn’t even bother to respect him when they’re out as a family of three.
Shortly after the young women’s departure, Wendy was the arrogant woman again.
She reprimanded with a contemptuous look, “Youngsters nowadays have no manners at all! Moreover, they have such bad taste to the extent they can’t even differentiate genuine goods from counterfeit goods!”
All of a sudden, Stanley leaned over and whispered, “Daddy, she’s such a shameless woman.”
Alex laughed and caressed his son’s head instead of exposing the arrogant woman in front of them.
Wendy couldn’t stand Alex laughing because she thought the man was making fun of her just as those young women did.
She yelled. “I was even planning to ask my husband to get you a job! I guess we don’t need to waste our time with the likes of you! You deserve whatever’s awaiting you and the family!”
It was then that Wendy’s daughter grasped the hem of her shirt and requested, “Mommy, they’re selling cotton candy over there! Can you get me one?”
Wendy turned into a lovely mother in split seconds. She patted the little girl’s head and answered, “Sure! I’ll go get you one immediately!”
Stanley couldn’t stop himself from gulping when he caught a glimpse of the cotton candy.
Alex was heartbroken when he saw his son gulping in silence instead of making a fuss when he had a similar craving.
He thought the little boy was too mature for his own good. “Stanley, do you want it as well? I’ll go get you
one!” he said.
Wendy, who had made it to the stall with her daughter, started insulting Alex when he showed Stanley. “What are you doing here? You’re not trying to get your son cotton candy, are you?”

“What? Are you the owner of the stall or something?” Alex asked in a calm and collected manner.
Irked by Alex’s question, Wendy glared at him in the eyes and said to the owner of the stall, “Sir, I’ll purchase everything you have!”
It took the stall owner a few seconds to snap out of bewilderment. Once he returned to his senses, he asked while sizing her up, “Miss, are you sure? It’s going to cost you a little more than twenty thousand if you’re serious.”
Wendy secretly gulped when she heard the total it would cost her. Although it was nothing she couldn’t afford, it might influence the family’s budget for the months to come.
Once again, the owner repeated himself, “Miss, are you sure?”
Wendy dismissed the owner’s question, pretending as if she hadn’t heard him.
