Meanwhile, David was standing in front of Heather’s house and pressing the doorbell. He specially came over in hopes of Alex curing him. 

After a while, Carmen walked out and scrutinized David. When she realized that he was wearing branded clothes, her eyes shone in delight, thinking that he was interested in her daughter. 

“Sir, are you looking for Heather? She’s at home now. Please come in!” Carmen greeted him respectfully. 

David was stunned after hearing that, and it took him a while to recover and explain, “No, I’m here to see Alex.” 

Carmen’s attitude toward David immediately became colder when she heard Alex’s name. She looked at him cautiously and asked, “Did that piece of trash offend you? If yes, we have nothing to do with it! Please don’t drag us into it.” 

It seems like Alex has been getting into trouble all this time!If I don’t need his help, I will kick up a fuss! 

“No, I’m here to ask him for help and beg him for forgiveness.” 

David took out a pile of cash, which was roughly ten thousand, and put it into Carmen’s hand. 

“You must be Alex’s mother-in-law. Can you call him and tell him that David Zucker has something to ask him?” 

When Carmen saw the money, her attitude changed again. David must be one of the Zuckers in Nebula City! 

She wanted to get some assets belonging to the Jeffersons through Alex, but nothing happened in the end.

“No! Alex is from one of the most prominent families in Nebula City! He says that if you refuse to help him, he won’t leave us alone. What if Stanley doesn’t like strangers and throws a tantrum?” 

Carmen brought up Stanley purposely to convince Alex to help David. 

Just as she expected, Alex hesitated for a moment before agreeing to come home and meet David. 

After 20 minutes, Alex arrived at home. 

“How dare you come to my house, David Zucker? Haven’t you suffered enough?” Alex said coldly to David, who was sitting on the couch. 

Carmen’s face paled as she tried to stop Alex from talking. “Are you out of your mind, Alex? How can you speak to Mr. Zucker that way? Apologize to him at once!” 

Alex looked at David and smirked. “Do you want me to apologize to you?” 

The latter put down the cup of tea in his hand and walked toward Alex. Without saying anything, he kneeled in front of him. 

Carmen widened her eyes in disbelief. Mr. Zucker is kneeling in front of my useless son-in-law?
