However, Callum didn’t believe Alex’s words as he wasn’t aware of what happened to Harper previously. 

As such, he immediately took Harper into his arms to protect her and scolded, “What a loser! How dare you bully my darling after offending David! Hmph! Are you tired of living? Do you want me to send you to hell?” 

At that moment, Stefan happened to arrive on the scene, and his expression turned grim upon hearing Callum’s unpleasant words to Alex. He immediately shouted, “Callum, who the hell do you think you are? How dare you utter such profanities to Dr. Jefferson?” 

The Jones family was one of the herbs suppliers for the Leighton family, yet they seldom kept in touch. Despite their close ties in business, Stefan was shocked to see that Callum disrespected Alex. 

The next moment, Callum merely cast a nonchalant glance at Stefan and said, “Stefan, our families have been business partners for more than ten years. Why did you speak for this good-for-nothing instead?” 

Much to Callum’s surprise, Stefan scoffed and replied. “You have no idea how competent Dr. Jefferson is. Anyway, offending Dr. Jefferson is equivalent to offending the entire Jone’s family. From now on, the Jones family will sever all ties with the Leighton family and stop supplying herbs to you!” 

Callum’s face turned slightly pale upon hearing it. After all, his family would face some difficulties if they lost their herb supplier. 

In an attempt to save face, Callum gritted his teeth and said coldly. “The Leighton family will prosper as usual without herb supply from the Jones family. On the contrary, I wonder if your family will be able to survive once you put a stop to your partnership with us.” 

Stefan remained calm as he replied determinedly. “Our herbs are well-known nationwide, and the Jones family won’t be affected much even if our partnership ends. However, I wonder how the Leighton family can guarantee the quality of their medicine without our supply!” 

Instantly, a young man who stood behind Callum apologized. “Mr. Jones, please forgive us. My brother was only joking. Given that our partnership has lasted for many years, I’m worried that terminating it all of a sudden won’t be good for both families- 

Before he could finish his sentence, Callum threw a kick at him and scowled. “Yates, who are you to interrupt me? Since when do I need your lecture? Remember that you’re just a b’stard in the family! I’ll drive 

you out if you dare spew nonsense again!” 

With a reddened face, Yates collapsed to the ground and covered his stomach in pain. 

After standing back up, Yates stood behind Callum quietly and dared not interrupt him anymore. 

Looking at Yates, Alex couldn’t help but feel that Yates was somewhat like himself when he was young. 

Back then, Alex had to suppress his frustrations even though he was looked down upon and humiliated by others. While he did so, he also waited patiently for an opportunity to arise. 

After a while, Harper persuaded Callum, “Darling, you don’t have to work yourself up because of a piece 

of trash and a b*stard. Let’s enter the hall.” 

Hearing that, Callum came to his senses and nodded in response. 

Harper gave Alex a vicious glare before she left. 

Deep in Harper’s heart, Alex and Yates were utter rubbish. Even though Alex had embarrassed her before. she was not intimidated by him at all.
