Chapter 725 Taking The Bait
“Alex, two Jetroinians have surfaced in Dr. Skyworth’s residence for unknown reasons. Shall we capture them?” Flynn asked anxiously over the phone.
They have lost their patience even though only three days have passed. Alex smirked at the thought.
Alex replied, “Not yet! They’re here for the divine pills. Just let them have the pills. All you need to do is ensure Tyrael’s safety.”
Flynn thought that Alex was worried he was no match for the Jetroinians. Hence, he declared, “Alex, don’t worry. I will bring enough men to capture them both.”
“I do want to let them take the divine pills,” Alex plainly replied with a scheming tone.
Flynn didn’t understand Alex’s intention.
The divine pills belong to Eurasia. If we let the Jetroinians steal them, aren’t we giving them the opportunity to manufacture the divine pills and make tons of profit? What’s wrong with Alex? Has he been shaken by what happened to Stanley?
Despite racking his brains, Flynn still didn’t know what Alex was up to. Hence, he might as well ask. “What’s wrong with you? That pills belong to Eurasia. How could you let the Jetroinians have it?”
“Don’t worry. The ones in Tyrael’s possession aren’t the divine pills. Furthermore, I have prepared a surprise for the Tokugawa siblings. Therefore, all you need to do is protect Tyrael,” Alex simply explained.
If he didn’t give Flynn an explanation, the latter would never allow the pills to be taken.
Even though he still didn’t understand what Alex wanted to convey, he was comforted by the idea that the Jetroinians weren’t going to have it easy.
To sabotage the Tokugawa siblings, Alex had created a couple of terminal lucidity pills and given them to Tyrael
The pills were strangely potent. Regardless of one’s sickness or even if one was on one’s last breath, consuming the pill would allow one to experience terminal lucidity for one to two hours.
However, the side effect was extremely frightening. Once the pill was taken, one would feel invigorated for some time before dying in shock.
In truth, the pill wasn’t meant to be poison. It was used on one’s deathbed to allow one to finish saying one’s last words.
The pill had the effect of compacting one’s residual strength into one to two hours of terminal lucidity. Consequently, the user could clearly convey their last wishes before they died.
In the olden days, such pills were prescribed to kings. When they were on their deathbed, they could use the pills to buy time to complete their testament.
However, such a pill had outlived its usefulness in modern times.
Due to its severe after effects, even a healthy person would be devastated after consuming it and feeling invigorated for one to two hours.
