Chapter 811 No Difference
“One hundred and fifty million? That’s a bit too expensive.” Maggie pouted. I may be the daughter of the Grant family, but even I don’t think this pretty but unimpressive necklace is worth one hundred and fifty million.
When the crowd heard what she said, they were shocked. A bit too expensive? The price is outrageous! This is indeed the most famous jewelry shop in Lumenopolis, considering it sells a necklace this costly.
“If you like it, I’ll buy it for you,” said Alex, as though the necklace was no different from a random onion he could find in the food market. He didn’t even blink when he suggested it.
The sales assistant stared at him with disdain. I can’t believe he’s pretending to be rich, just like my foolish ex- boyfriend. “Did you mishear me, sir? This necklace costs one hundred and fifty million, not one hundred and fifty.”
Casually, Alex asked, “What’s the difference? As long as she likes it, I’ll buy it for her.”
Whether something cost one hundred and fifty million or one hundred and fifty, it didn’t matter to Alex because it was just a number in his eyes.
He didn’t care about money by that point. What he wanted to do the most at that moment was to enhance his capabilities.
However, he found Maggie quite attractive, so he didn’t mind buying the expensive necklace for her.
Aside from Maggie, everyone else thought Alex was just a lying young man pretending to be something he wasn’t in front of a beautiful woman. I can’t believe he said there’s no difference between one hundred and fifty million and one hundred and fifty. What a joker!
“I think we should forget about it. The necklace looks great, but it’s still a bit too expensive. There’s no need to buy this for me.” Maggie was still hesitating as she didn’t want Alex to spend so much money on
her.
It was then the sales assistant pulled Maggie’s arm. “You should let your boyfriend buy it for you, miss. I don’t think you should reject the love your boyfriend is showing you.” I want him to try buying it because I can’t wait to laugh at him when he ultimately can’t.
The manager added. “That’s right, miss. Since your boyfriend is so generous, why not let him buy it for you? Aren’t you curious how much he loves you?”
While he liked Maggie, he understood that a woman like her wasn’t someone he could touch. Naturally, he didn’t dare to develop any thoughts about her.
However, he was pretty ticked off that Maggie, an absolutely stunning woman, ended up with a man as lame as Alex.
Without hesitation, Alex removed an ATM card from his pocket and lay it on the table. “If you like it, I’ll buy it. Use the card!”
The manager and sales assistant were stunned when they saw the ATM card because they weren’t expecting that.
They thought he was going to come up with an excuse not to buy the necklace. For example, he might say he forgot to bring his money, he needed to leave immediately because of a stomachache, or his phone was out of power, leaving him incapable of completing the transaction through online banking.
