“Why did you suddenly call me, Captain Sawyer?” inquired Alex. 

Upon hearing his familiar voice, Elsa subconsciously smiled. 

However, now that the call was connected, she didn’t know what to say. She thought for a while before stating. “A woman called Carmen Garnet filed a police report at the station today. She was swindled and lost nine billion as a result. Also, she mentioned your name. She must be your mother-in-law, so I’m calling to tell you about it. I apologize if I’m disturbing you.” 

In the meantime, Alex was boarding a plane back to Nebula City and was stunned upon hearing what Elsa said. She lost the nine billion I gave Heather to a con artist? How amusing.

As a dense man, he didn’t realize that Elsa wasn’t actually calling him to tell him about Carmen. Instead, she was just finding an excuse to speak with him and invite him out for a meal. 

Even Elsa didn’t expect Alex to reject her that decisively. For a moment, she was at a loss for words. 

“How about I visit you instead? I’m curious to see what you’re so busy about that you don’t even have the time for a meal,” she said in a light-hearted tone, smiling. 

Well, since she’s putting it like that, I’ve no reason to reject her. We are friends, after all. It won’t make sense for me not to invite her to my and Maggie’s wedding. Since she wants to come, I certainly won’t reject her. Alex agreed and gave her an address. 

After boarding the plane, Alex turned off his phone and got some shut-eye while waiting for the aircraft to land in Nebula City. 

The plane landed as soon as he woke up, which was perfect timing. He, Maggie, and Stanley then proceeded to fetch their luggage and got ready to leave the airport. 

Upon seeing the huge crowd waiting to pick him up at the airport, he was taken aback. Even Maggie was shocked and shot him a weird look.
