Alex realized that the problem was more serious than he had imagined after a visit to the tech dome. Without capital, all the processes would be bottlenecked. 

Having poured his heart and soul into the tech dome, Alex had never expected that his business, already taken off, would suffer the devastating blow of the sudden withdrawal of thirty billion. 

Has everything been in vain?

Alex slumped into his chair before his desk, racking his brain for a solution. 

Suddenly, the office door opened. Alex looked up hopefully; he thought Jessica had returned. 

If Jessica has returned, she might be able to help me think of a way to resolve this. She is d*mn good at this sort of thing. 

However, it was not Jessica as he expected. Glancing up, he found Heather, his ex-wife, instead. He was mystified by her arrival. 

“I currently have urgent matters to attend to. If there’s something you need, please come another time.” Alex massaged his temples to ease the throbbing pain. 

Heather did not turn to leave. Instead, she strode briskly into the office. Upon arriving before his desk, she slammed her hand on it hard. 

“Aren’t you going to explain what’s going on with Kate, Alex? Is her child yours? When did 

you two begin hooking up behind my back?” Heather demanded. 

After learning that Alex was the chairman of Four Seas Corporation, Heather had seen Alex differently. She had thought he had become a responsible man. 

They had divorced because her family had forced her to. It was over the line, and it had been. the cause of what entailed. 

That was the reason why she had planned to get him to stay during his wedding to Maggie, but Kate’s sudden appearance had felt like a slap of betrayal to Heather’s face. 

Her best friend in university had gotten together with her husband, the father of her child. It was something she could not accept.
