Lily lifted her gaze to Anastasia and smiled. "I'm not sure. Your aunt might know better since she’s the one who hired him."

Anastasia wanted to ask a few more questions, but Maria's shrill voice came from outside the door, “Of course I do!" She strode in, looking upset.

When she entered the door, she stared at Lily and said with a sigh, "Mr. Fike is Dominic Fike's secret apprentice. Mrs. Russell, as someone who has married well and has good looks, you have no idea what my niece is going through. I took a lot of effort to bring the miracle doctor here, yet you made him leave in a fit!"

Lily chuckled. "Ma'am, if I remember correctly, this happens to be my house. Do I need approval in deciding who to invite and who I don't wish to see?”
