Alexander’s frown deepened as he watched Mike. He held Lily’s hand tightly and said, “Let’s go!”

He did not want to listen anymore. He feared he might get convinced if he stayed a second longer. He knew the situation's pros and cons and that they had no choice. He understood that they could settle this matter quickly if Lily pretended to cooperate with them.

Then they could investigate the organization's roots and crush them completely. However, Alexander could not allow Lily to risk her life.

He would be willing to try it if it were him or someone else tasked to be a spy. But he would not allow Lily to get involved.
