A moment of hesitation later, Lily, in Alexander’s arms, said, “Then, what if I’m the one to promise you that?”

Alexander and Mike were stunned.

Alexander lowered his head and looked at Lily. She raised her head slightly to meet his gaze, a faint smile on her face. “I promise I’ll take good care of myself. I’ll stop if I immediately sense any danger or if something feels off. I’ll prioritize my and our baby’s safety at all times. What about that?”

Lily even raised her hand to swear on her words. She appeared to be serious about it.

Alexander did not know what to say for a moment. If it were anyone else, he would have many things to retort to them. However, it was Lily who would always make him feel helpless. She knew this clearly and took advantage of it as well.
