Dominic’s uproar startled Alexander. Then he realized he had taken the older man lightly. He thought Dominic was angry at Lily for what she was doing. It turned out that Dominic was only concerned about her safety.

After a momentary silence, Alexander sighed almost inaudibly and said, “It’s not like you don’t know how Lily is.”

This one sentence almost shut Dominic up, but he was still dissatisfied. “So, what? Aren’t you like her? She is your wife! Shouldn’t you love and protect her? You weren’t here back then, but now that you are, how can you let her do such a dangerous thing? Don’t you know where she is? She’s entering the dragon’s pool and the tiger’s lair!”
