“You might not believe it, but I can help. Fred has manipulated you only because he knew what you wanted most.”
The queen’s eyes flickered. “What I wanted most?”
“Immortality.” Lily inwardly sighed as she said that.
Many have obsessed over immortality throughout history. There were always those who sought eternal life, whether emperors or commoners. Some resorted to alchemy, some rituals, and even experiments on human beings.
The queen had listened to Fred and delegated many tasks to him because he knew what she cared about most.
“You’re saying you can help me live forever?” The queen straightened up and tried not to look excited. However, Lily noticed it.
She shook her head, saying, “No, I can’t do that.”
“Y-You little…” The queen felt like Lily had played her like a fool and grew upset. She tried to choke down her anger, saying, “Then why did you say you can help me?”
Lily sighed, “I know you seek immortality, but many have tried and failed. What makes you think you’ll succeed?”
