Chapter 592
With a beep, the door opened. The man now knew that this lady, who appeared to be gentle, was not easy to deal with. Politely, he said, “Ms. Christian, this way.”
When Lily entered, she made an “OK” sign with her thumb and index finger behind her back. She knew that Alexander could see her.
Seeing that the door was closing again, Alexander shook his head, realizing that he had been smiling the entire time. It was great that she was strong enough to protect herself, but even if she could not do that, he would always protect her.
Lily was right that Noah would show up the next day. He came early, and the doorbell sounded while she was still having breakfast. Not looking up, she continued to eat in an unhurried manner. When Noah entered the door, he saw that she was holding a piece of toast in her hand. “You’re early and even more diligent than I’ve expected,” Noah praised, clapping his hands. However, Lily looked at him like he was an idiot. ‘Diligent? Having breakfast is considered as being diligent to him? What’s he even talking about?”
When his compliment did not get him a response, he rubbed the tip of his nose and said, “I think your memory shouldn’t be that bad. You should remember who I am by now, right?”
Lily put down the half piece of uneaten toast and brushed her hands before she looked up at him and spoke, “I don’t care who you are. I just want to know what you’re up to.”
She would like to avoid wasting food if possible, but the instant food in the refrigerator here was terrible. It had only been two days since she left home, and she was missing Alexander’s home–cooked meals already.
Pursing her lips, she realized she had become picky with her food because his dishes were always delicious.
Lily’s question was within Noah’s expectations. He chuckled and pulled out a chair to sit on the opposite side of her. “Are you interested in joining the Perfumers‘ Society?”
“I thought you came here today to challenge me.”
