Somewhere else.
Nell was working when she suddenly received a call from Gideon.
He asked if she was free at noon to come over to him. Someone wanted to meet her.
Nell was a little surprised, but she happened to be free at noon, so she agreed.
At noon, Nell went to Leith Corporation. As soon as she entered the office, she saw Gideon as well as Gareth Leith.
She was surprised but asked with a smile. “Director Leith, what brings you here?”
Gareth smiled at her and felt even more satisfied.
How could she look so good?
Her eyes and nose were exactly the same as Ashley Watson in his mind.
Gideon glanced at Gareth and said casually, “He’s here for you.”
“Me?”
“Yes.” Gideon told his cousin, “Tell her yourself!”
Gareth’s spirit shook.
Nell was confused. “Director Leith, what can I do for you?”
“It’s nothing. I just wanted to ask, are you interested in acting?”
Nell laughed.
“I am! Are you working on anything new?”
Gareth’s eyes lit up.
“No, I’m busy shooting ‘Hidden Valley: Ashley’ now. Lucy Katz, who you introduced to me before, is great. Both her professionality and her attitude are much better than other actors of her age, so I have to thank you!”
Nell had a sneaking feeling that there was no way Gareth Leith made the trip here today just to thank her.
However, she feigned ignorance and did not say anything. She simply smiled.
“In that case, shall I introduce a few more actors to you?”
Gareth waved his hand.
“It’s fine. I don’t have a shortage of other roles, but I have one missing. This role can’t be filled by anyone else.”
“Oh? What role is that?”
“Ashley Watson.”
Nell was stunned.
“Wasn’t Celine Jennings already cast as Ashley Watson?”
Gareth’s brows furrowed at the mention.
“Forget it. That was originally because we could not find a more suitable candidate. Plus, she brought resources into the group, so I agreed to let her play this role. I didn't expect that there would be such a large scandal now. With her current image, I’m worried that it’ll affect the group if we continue to use her, so after careful consideration, we decided to look for a new candidate.”
Nell laughed.
“Who do you have in mind?”
“You!”
“Me?”
She pointed to herself in surprise and looked at Gareth’s serious eyes. She realized that he was not joking.
Turning her head to look at Gideon, she saw that his gaze was solemn. He said in a deep voice, “I’ve already refused on your behalf, but he’s unwilling to give up and wanted to ask you in person.
Nell did not know whether to laugh or cry.
“Director Leith, I’m not an actor. I’ve never acted before.”
Gareth did not care. “So what? You have talent. With my training, I’m sure that you’ll be able to shine in this play.”
Then, he patted his chest as if it was the card up his sleeves.
Nell, however, shook her head.
“I’m sorry, Director Leith. I won’t be able to accept this request of yours.”
Gareth’s face changed at the words.
He stared at Nell anxiously. “Why not?”
“Because I have no plans to be an actor, and I don’t like the life of being watched by others.”
