Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 1008

”Your wife, Vickie, will need to take four fruits a month. Just one Money Bead will not be enough for her. You’ll need to help me find more Arcane Jades. Whenever you recover one, I’ll give you another Money Bead and the cultivation manual too. How does that sound?”

Gregory was silent as he contemplated.

There were indeed only five or six fruits on the Money Bead he saw just now.

Jeff was probably telling the truth.

Thus, he nodded.

“Okay. You have my word.”

A smile blossomed on Jeff’s face.

“This plant takes a lot of work to grow. You’ll have to keep it in a dark and gloomy area; a place where it can best absorb the essence of the moonlight. It can’t touch the soil or else it’ll wither right away. You can only put it in containers made of jade. The better the quality of the jade is, the more vigorous it will grow, and the size of the fruits will be bigger as well. Needless to say, the effect will then last longer.

“Once you’ve found such a location and container, you should fix the plant on top of the container and pour only a small amount of water at the bottom. It’ll be fine as long as the water doesn’t drown the roots. It’s just that you’ll need to change the water three times a day: in the morning, afternoon, and at night. Water cannot stain the fruits or stem. It’ll rot and die otherwise.

“You must keep in mind that it can’t come into contact with rainwater on a rainy day. If you’ve gone a long time without seeing the moon, you’ll have to use a LED light to shine on it at a distance. How far should the light be - that’s up to you. It’ll be fine as long as it’s not too close or far away. Keep that up for half a year, and the plant will blossom.”

Gregory frowned as he listened to Jeff.

It was not that he thought taking care of the plant sounded inconvenient. Rather, he thought it did not sound too hard for him to do at all.

He could have very well asked someone to study the plant, and they could probably come up with the same cultivation methods. If he had known how easy it was, he would not have sat and listened to Jeff’s ramblings.

His grievances aside, he had to acquiesce to the deal anyway because Jeff told him that just one Money Bead would not be enough for Vickie and that he would need a few more.

His expression eased quite a bit when he arrived at that thought.

“Okay, I understand. I’ll look out for anything about the Arcane Jade and let you know if anything comes up.”

Jeff did not speak again on the other side of the camera. They disconnected the call soon after that.

Mr. Osborne was mumbling about how magnificent the plant was after Gregory reiterated Jeff’s instructions to him. He could not believe such a magical thing existed in the world.

If they had not seen the plant in person, Gregory and Vickie would not even dare to think that something like that existed in the world either.

The two of them sat and stared at the golden plant. Their hearts felt burdened.

Vickie suddenly recalled something Sean once said, and her eyes brightened.

“Gregory, do you remember the genius doctor we met named Sean Miller?”

Gregory nodded. “Yeah, why?”

“He said he had read about this plant before. I feel like there’s a huge chance we might fail at keeping it alive. Why don’t we hand it over to Sean to take care of? He can also study it at the same time. Who knows? Maybe he’ll make some unexpected discoveries.”

Gregory’s eyebrows knitted together at her words.

It was not that he was selfish and wanted that thing to himself. It was just that he had to go through a lot to get his hands on the plant, and it could potentially save Vickie’s life. He really was not in favor of taking such a huge risk.

Vickie did not think so.
