Nell glanced at the lock and saw their names written down neatly. She blinked at the beautiful words written by her man.
After Gideon wrote their names, he, too, noticed others wrote sweet words on the love lock, so he went along with the atmosphere and asked Nell, “Do you want to add a little something?”
Nell asked him, “What do you think? What should we write?”
Gideon found himself in a difficult position.
He was never a passionate and sentimental person so he would only sweet talk her when the atmosphere was right.
However, they were on the peak of a mountain. He found it difficult to come up with something sweet in this location.
Gideon did not want to go back on his words since he was the one who had suggested it so he thought for a moment before he quickly wrote down the words that had popped in his mind.
Nell moved closer to have a look at what he had written: Sleep here forever!
‘Okay! Mr. Leith, you’re really something!’
Gideon happily hung the lock on the bridge. Nell had the Hundred Children Lock in her hand but Gideon took it after he had hung the first lock. He, too, wrote their names on the lock and hung it beneath the first love lock.
Nell asked, “What did you write?”
“Name.”
“Name? Whose name?” Nell was confused.
“Our children’s name.”
Nell was not overly concerned so she simply assumed Gideon was writing the name of their future child.
Gideon locked the second lock tightly and held her hands. Nell looked a little strange but Gideon was not bothered.
When they returned to the restaurant that they had dinner at, they asked around and realized the rumors from the internet about a meteor rain was real.
The Astronomical Observatory had released a statement that there would be a meteor rain tonight. Many people climbed to the peak earlier and set up tents to wait for the natural phenomenon to happen.
It was not their first time watching a meteor rain together. It was only a while ago that he brought her to see another meteor rain.
However, since they were already here and coincidentally encountered the occasion, there was no reason for them to not see it.
Nell’s gloominess faded right away as they ran to the peak to watch the meteor rain.
The meteor rain had yet to show but the place was already filled with people, most of them couples. There were also families of three, sitting together in groups and chatting with each other happily.
“I wish we had a telescope, I bet we’d get a better look,” Nell sighed.
Gideon heard her and raised a brow. He pointed at a stall further away. “I think someone is selling them there.”
“Really? Want to go have a look?”
Gideon nodded. The two of them headed to the stall but the stall was only offering cheap and lousy telescopes.
The stall owner saw their young age and prestigious presence. He believed they were a rich couple, so he put a lot of effort into his sales pitch.
He said the meteor rain would come sooner or later tonight and that his telescope would be able to get a clearer and more beautiful view.
Nell was an amateur in this, so she let Gideon do all the talking.
Gideon started to choose from the provided options. He selected a few and without even asking the price, he opened all of them up. He then skillfully disassembled them and re-assembled one to his liking.
He was quick and skillful. Before the stall owner could even react, Gideon had taken out three to four telescopes. The owner got anxious.
“Hey, mister, if you don’t want to buy, don’t open my stuff! How am I going to sell the rest if you open them all?”
Gideon was calm and he said, “The rest of them are lousy, disqualified items so there’s no harm in not selling them to people.”
The stall owner got even more anxious. He wanted to reason with Gideon but Gideon had already assembled his telescope and started testing it out.
Even though the effect was less than decent, he had limited options of hardware. This was the best he could do, at least it was better than the others on sale.
He fished out some money and paid the owner for the telescopes and an extra cushion. He then held Nell’s hand and left the stall.
Gideon brought Nell to a spacious spot. He laid the cushion on the ground and both of them sat down.
Nell tested out the telescope that he had assembled but she did not notice anything different.
