Hannah realized how confident Nell sounded. She felt at ease and hung up.
After ending the call, Nell headed straight for the film set to look for Tim.
There would be other scenes to shoot in the afternoon. As the director, Tim certainly could not return to the hotel for a break.
After having a lunch break, he had to resume working.
When Nell found him, he was reviewing the scenes filmed earlier that morning. He was surprised when he saw her approaching him.
“Huh? Aren’t you supposed to rest at the hotel? Your scenes this afternoon will require lots of physical strength, so make sure you can keep up.”
Nell smiled. “It’s fine. Director Coombs, I have something to tell you.”
Tim glanced at her and noticed the way she looked at him, so he nodded.
“Alright, let’s head aside to talk.”
Then, he led her to a makeshift breakroom constructed by the crew.
After entering the breakroom, Tim asked, “What is it? Shoot!”
Nell wasted no time. She fished out her phone, logged into Weibo, and showed him the hot topic.
Tim was stunned and took her phone to have a closer look. Upon seeing the headline and photos, his expression changed and he flew into a rage.
“Bastards!”
He placed the phone on the table and roared, “Who took these photos? Who wrote this garbage? Are they blind or do they not have a conscience? I was drunk and you helped me, and they made up a rumor out of it? What were their intentions?”
Nell smiled and calmed Tim down. “Director Coombs, don’t be angry. Whoever took such photos definitely wanted to ruin my reputation. Unfortunately, she has most likely failed.”
Tim was appalled and eyed her in a confounded manner.
“Who would want to ruin your reputation? I don’t get it. You’re a newcomer who has just entered showbiz, so how are you supposed to prevent others from getting famous? What good will that person get in targeting you like this?”
Nell raised an eyebrow. “Or… It’s just pure jealousy?”
Tim froze.
Nell kept her phone and said calmly, “I told you about this because I wanted you to be prepared, in case the reporters ask and you don’t know what’s going on. I know you seldom log into Weibo.”
Tim finally reacted and his eyebrows were locked into a deep frown.
“Do you mean… That you don’t want me to get involved?”
Nell nodded.
“Relax, I’ll handle this. I promise nothing bad will happen.”
However, Tim shook his head.
“No, it might seem like a minor issue, but if it gets mishandled, it’ll impact you greatly. Don’t worry, I’ll issue a public statement and secretly send someone to investigate this matter. Don’t interfere with this.”
Nell regarded him and blinked.
“Why issue a statement?”
Tim retorted, “Why not?”
Nell grinned. “It’s a great opportunity to create buzz for the crew. Someone had even reserved the hot topic spot for us, so why waste this precious chance? Just leave the hot topic be and you don’t have to issue any statement. What’s best is that it’ll help to promote our new show.”
Now, Tim did not understand her at all.
“Aren’t you worried that the public will believe what the media says? That you’re a person who secures the lead role by using others?”
Nell looked at him and a smile slowly spread across her face.
“I heard the first teaser will be released at the end of this month, right?”
Tim felt surprised and nodded. “Yes, but what does it have to do with this matter?”
