“You can’t just let her go like that! As long as you’re willing, I have a hundred ways to make her talk!”
Nell turned to look at Nancy with an apprehensive gaze.
“Nancy, don’t act recklessly!”
Nancy was no ordinary female bodyguard. This was something that Nell knew very well.
Her skills and finesse had far surpassed the security guards she had seen before. Gideon had transferred only her to Nell’s side to protect Nell, so it could be inferred that Nancy had remarkable qualities.
Nancy saw Nell’s wary expression and rubbed her head in slight annoyance.
“That’s not it. I just don’t understand. It wasn’t easy to grab her, but you’re just letting her go now. It’s such a waste!”
Nell shook her head.
“It’s not a waste.”
Nancy was stunned.
“I know Celine too well. She’s suspicious by nature. Since she already knows that you’ve taken Kylie, even if she goes back now, Celine won’t believe her.
“Celine doesn’t treat Kylie well but Kylie was willing to help her guard her secrets so fiercely. Maybe there’s some sort of leverage or threat that Celine holds over Kylie.
“If we force her like this, not only will we not be able to get the truth out of her, we may also push her to a dead end. It’s better to let her go.
“If Celine really doesn’t trust her now, she won’t keep Kylie by her side anymore. When that happens, it won’t be impossible for us to make another move.”
Nancy’s eyes widened, suddenly understanding Nell’s plan.
Now that everything was clear, Nancy could not help but admire Nell’s meticulousness.
She exclaimed, “So that’s it! That’s brilliant!”
Nell smiled. “It’s just a little trick, nothing to be impressed about.”
When they reached the set, sure enough, before long, Tim signaled for them to start.
Nell’s makeup remained unchanged. She only needed to touch up slightly before continuing the shoot.
Celine was the same but perhaps she did not study the scene thoroughly or she was too restless today, she was not able to pass the scene despite multiple takes.
Even if the lines were delivered smoothly, they always felt wrong. In the end, Tim had finally lost his patience.
Even if they continued like this, the shoot would not be completed, so they let her rest for now and continued to shoot something else first. This part would be included in the end product afterward.
Celine’s mood grew even fouler at this. When she saw Kylie, who had returned at some point, her eyes almost burst into flames.
“Where the hell have you been? Why are you only back now?!”
Kylie avoided her gaze, not daring to look at Celine.
Her voice was as low as a fly. “I-I didn’t go anywhere.”
“You didn’t go anywhere?” Celine looked at her with suspicion. “Why did I hear that you were taken away by Nancy Murray?”
Kylie’s body trembled imperceptibly.
Even if it was only a subtle subconscious reaction, Celine keenly caught it.
She immediately sneered.
“Looks like you told her everything.”
“I didn’t!”
Kylie hurriedly denied, but how would Celine believe her?
“You didn’t? Then, where have you been for hours today since this morning? Don’t tell me that you went out and got lost and couldn’t find your way back! You really think I’m that easy to fool?!”
Kylie was on the verge of tears.
“Sister Celine, I really didn’t say anything. I was indeed taken away by Nancy Murray but no matter how much she asked, I never said anything. You have to believe me.”
Celine looked at her coldly.
Kylie was helpless and sobbed. “Even if you don’t believe in my loyalty, my mother is still counting on the money you’ll give me for her surgery. I haven’t gotten the money yet, so how would I dare to say anything?”
Celine seemed to find that believable.
Even so, she still stared with suspicion. “You swear?”
“I swear!”
“Fine, then I’ll trust you for now.”
