Stephanie stood at the entrance with a small suitcase beside her. Seeing her turn around, she smiled and said, “Ms. Jennings, I hope I’m not disturbing you.”
Nell collected her emotions and walked over.
“Nope.”
Her gaze fell on the suitcase beside Stephanie and said with surprise, “You’re leaving so quickly?”
“Well, I was here for some promotional photos of the endorsed products nearby. I learned that Grandma Leith was here so I dropped by. Since I can’t take many days off, I have to go back today.”
Nell nodded.
“I’ll see you out.”
Stephanie shook her head and said with a smile, “It’s okay, I only came here to greet you. My assistant is already downstairs, I can go myself.”
Nell had no idea if she was intentionally courteous or did not want her assistant to see her.
However, she did not insist and nodded.
“Then you be safe on the road.”
“Well, you too.”
After seeing Stephanie leave, Nell thought of the question just now.
The only reason Celine escaped and sent such a text message to Sally was because she had received some information.
Who gave the information to her?
Stephanie Garret?
It did not seem like it.
After all, only Stephanie knew her whereabouts besides the Leith family.
If this was exposed, Stephanie would be the main suspect but she would not do it to preserve her impression in the eyes of Old Madam and Gideon.
Then who would it be?
Also, since Celine already knew she was on Tranquil Dwelling, it would only take a few hours from Jingchen.
Why was she not here yet? And mysteriously disappeared?
What actually happened?
Nell felt as though a fog covered her eyes and could not guess the reason behind it.
Fortunately, there were no other incidents besides the disappearance of Celine.
The only way now was to wait and see what would follow.
Nell stopped thinking about it and went out to look for Lizzy.
On the other side, in the cold and wet boat, Celine woke up in a daze.
She was feeling dizzy and she struggled to open her heavy eyelids. When she managed to, all she saw was darkness.
There was a ray of light not far away and a figure could be vaguely seen moving around.
What was this place?
She could only recall eating supper not long after getting on the boat as she was famished, then she fell asleep.
After that…
Celine frowned and could not remember anything after that.
Vaguely, she remembered being moved around and finally locked in a dark hut.
Bad news!
Celine jolted awake and jumped up from the ground.
Only darkness surrounded her with some light from a door in front which was not entirely shut.
Her hands were tied behind her back and her legs were tied too. The floor beneath her was wood emitting salty dampness with wind chiming in her ears which seemed like she was on a boat.
On the boat?
