Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 285

Nancy widened her eyes in surprise.

“You can tell?”

Nell hummed in acknowledgment.

“Then why did you let her join you? Aren’t you jumping right into the trap that she’s setting you up for?”

Nell grinned.

“Is it a trap, though? She needs a job and sees no way out of it. It just so happens I need a capable assistant that I’m familiar with. Isn’t it a win-win situation and it’ll kill two birds with one stone if she comes over? What kind of trap is this?”

Nancy remained silent.

After a while, she threw Nell a bitter look.

“Alright then. If you feel she’s worth the trust, we’ll give her one more chance. Don’t you worry though, I will keep an eye on her and won’t allow any possibility for her to act up.”

Nell wanted to laugh at Nancy’s overly wary face.

Nancy was the classic all brawn and no brain type of person.

She could never trust someone who had once committed betrayal.

However, little did she know, there were many situations in life where one would be left without an alternative.

With her hand on her heart, Nell would make the same choice as Kylie between a sick mother and an unrelated stranger if she were in the latter’s shoes.

Refusing to dwell on the topic further, Nell got out of the car and headed straight to Fengqiao Villa.

By the time she was home, it was 9:00 p.m.

Gideon had transferred Aunt Joyce back here from Jincheng and she was now living in Fengqiao Villa, assisting Nell in housekeeping.

Meanwhile, Lizzy was residing in the Leith Residence due to her poor health as well as her need to get to school and see a doctor every now and then. Both Nell and Gideon were occupied with work so they were unable to keep her company all the time.

As long as Nell or Gideon had the time during the weekend, they would bring Lizzy over to play together.

Nell and Nancy got down the car and were near the entrance when their keen senses picked up on the intensity in the air.

The villa was brightly lit and a group of maids in the same splash of color stood in the living room. Standing in the forefront, Aunt Joyce caught a glimpse of Nell and Nancy approaching by the corner of her eye, and she immediately tipped Nell the wink.

Taking the cue, Nell raised a brow.

She took a few steps inside and was welcomed by a woman’s harsh and cold tone.

“This is the capital, not a rural village like Jincheng. You should know who you’re working for. We Leiths have our own set of rules. Don’t let the rural commoner run the place with her down-at-heel antics.”

Right in the middle of the sofa, Jean sat cross-legged while swirling a teacup leisurely in her hand as she berated.

Hearing her words, Nancy could immediately tell who was the receiving end of the criticism. Her face darkened as she was about to lose her temper.

Nell was quick to stop her. Erecting a finger to her lips, Nell motioned for Nancy to stay quiet.

With that, Nancy stuck it out and took a step back.

Unaware that Nell was back, Jean took a sip of tea and continued. “The Leith family are rich and powerful aristocrats dated back a century ago. The house, including things like these glasses, coffee tables, and decors, reflects on the family’s dignity. Of course, only the best will suffice.

“Take a look, what are you people displaying? Don’t give me phrases like ‘the missus likes it that way’ or ‘it’s the missus’ taste’.

“Your missus came from a small place and doesn’t know what’s good for her but all of you are different. You’ve been working for influential families in the capital from the start.

“Prior to taking up employment with the Leiths, you must have had a lot of experience working with other families. You should know what things look great and what things don’t.

“Even if you have never done it before, it’s not like you don’t have firsthand experience. What’s more, Fengqiao Villa was designed by an internationally renowned architect. Every single plant and flower was laid out through meticulous planning.
