Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 288

Nell wanted to laugh. It was because she thought he could take a joke that she teased him but it had never occurred to her that he would actually get mad.

Hence, she nudged him on the shoulder.

“Okay, I was only kidding. Don’t take it so seriously!”

It was during then a surprised voice was heard from her left.

“Sister Nelly? You’re here as well?”

The lot turned their heads and saw Lucy.

After a year in the business, Lucy had become the top-ranked actress in Xinghui.

Although it was still a long way from A-listed actors, Lucy was a star with a following of twenty to thirty million fans. Most importantly, there was a steady growth in her popularity as well as ability. It seemed like she would have a bright future ahead of her.

For this reason, she was considered one of the actors that Xinghui was focused on.

If memory served Nell right, Lucy should be shooting an idol drama set in the olden days. The script was personally given by Nell to her.

However, why was she here?

Nell was taken aback while compared to her surprise, Lucy was feeling uneasy.

The latter was not here alone as beside her sat a young man.

The man seemed to be in his twenties and looked rather refined and smart. Wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, he put on an air of a business elite.

Lucy pursed her lips when she realized Nell’s gaze was falling right next to her.

She did not keep it from Nell though.

Taking a glance at the few people beside Nell, Lucy bashfully muttered an introduction, “This is Young Master Yard of the Yard Corporation. I’ve got the afternoon off from the shoot today and because I’m a little more interested in jewelry, I came over with Young Master Yard for a look-see.”

She then introduced Trent Yard to Nell’s group.

Joel pulled a visibly long face.

The rest did not notice the change in him. Gideon had met Lucy a couple of times and was only a nodding acquaintance with her because she was a friend and employee of Nell.

Least of all Owen.

He was uninvolved in the entertainment world and the business that his family was into was poles apart from the entertainment circle.

Moreover, he spent his day engrossed in studying medicine or calligraphy. He was not fond of television drama nor the web.

In Joel’s words, he was an old antique from an ancient tomb. Should Owen be left in the mountains one day, he would stick out like a sore thumb living like a hermit.

Due to this, he did not recognize Lucy despite her rising popularity.

Following Nell’s introduction, he politely greeted with a smile and that was it.

Nell gave a nod.

Although she did not know Trent personally, she had heard that this up-and-coming star in the financial world had just returned from abroad and had earned quite a name for himself.

She simply said hello to Trent.

After Trent politely returned the same, his attention fell on Gideon who had not spoken much.

“I’ve been looking forward to meeting you, Young Master Leith but have never gotten the chance to. It must be destiny for me to encounter you today. I wonder if you’d like to have supper together after the auction? If you think about it, I too studied abroad at Franke College in Country F, so that makes us fellow students...”

Gideon interrupted before he could finish.

“Sorry, I don’t take supper.”

Trent did not know what to reply.

Any person of sense could tell that the supper was an excuse to rub shoulders.

Yard Corporation may not amount to the Four Great Clans, but it had quite the standing in the country. The Yards were close to the Grahams in particular and they even had ties of kinships between them.

Although the competition between Leiths and Grahams had been heating up in recent years, it was not to the extent of a fallout.
