Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 301

An elderly man known as Mr. John worked here. He used to work for the Leith family as a butler.

In the past, Mr. John worked for Gideon’s father. After Gideon’s father had passed away, he no longer stayed on with the Leiths. His original plan was to retire to a nursing home, but Gideon made him stay. Later, he came here to manage the family’s private restaurant.

Mr. John was old. Although he was in his sixties, his hair was almost gray. He radiated a kind and compassionate aura.

The nursery was quiet.

Tara stood aside as Mr. John brought out a flower pot carefully. He placed it on a table and removed the black cloth covering the pot, revealing a blooming blue rose.

She exclaimed, “Wow, it’s so pretty! Is this a Blue Enchantress?”

Mr. John smiled. “No, no, I cultivated this on my own. The Blue Enchantress you’re talking about is dyed and different from this one.”

“Really? But this looks the same as a Blue Enchantress.”

Mr. John stared at her and sniggered. “Rubbish! They aren’t the same at all! Look at this flower. Its color, petals, and texture are so much nicer than that of a Blue Enchantress.”

Tara scrutinized the flower again but saw no difference.

She smiled bashfully and rubbed her nose. She did not want to embarrass Mr. John, so she said, “Eh, right, it’s different.”

Mr. John beamed with pride after receiving Tara’s approval.

Suddenly, he thought of something and his eyes lit up with glee. “Come, come, take a photo of me together with this flower. I want to post it on Weibo.”

A laugh escaped Tara. “You’re an old man and you use Weibo?”

Mr. John glared at her. “So what? Weibo isn’t just for youngsters.”

Then, he bragged. “You know, my account is verified on Weibo. I’m a famous horticulturist and I have almost a million followers.”

Tara was astonished. “Amazing!”

Mr. John felt smug. “Right? On par with you youngsters, eh?”

Tara commented, “Yeah, more amazing than us.”

Mr. John chuckled. “Do come here more often. Once the flowers in the nursery are grown, I’ll give you one as a gift.”

“Alright, thank you in advance.”

Mr. John waved a hand. His eyes formed two narrow slits as he smiled. “You’re welcome. I like you, little girl. Come visit me when you’re free and accompany this old man.”

Tara grinned but did not reply.

She knew very well that despite making friends with Nell today, she was still a Garrett.

Nowadays, the Four Great Clans have an unstable relationship. They could be friends today and enemies the next day.

The Leiths and the Garretts used to have a marriage pact, but it never worked out. Gideon defied the pact by marrying a woman from a regular background. For the other three clans, there was no longer any hope in creating a marriage pact with the Leiths.

Thus, they set their sights on other places.

Tara was aware that the man from the Grahams was actively pursuing Stephanie.

If a marriage pact was formed between the Garretts and Grahams, things would become stickier.

Although she was just an extended family member of the Garretts, she still had to know her place when such a situation arose. To avoid suspicion from her family, she must not be too close to Nell.
